Coach McGuirk
Wow did anyone just see that meteor? just came out of church and looked up and Huge blue and Orange fireball racing across the sky. Told the kids it was Santa I saw a meteor or something streaming in the air around 6:15 PM (maybe a little later) on the 24th EST. My sister and I were leaving from a Christmas party and we both saw it. It was a weird blue streak across the sky. I thought it was fire works at first. JB Fins
Was just watching Richmond Memories on PBS and they closed with AM radio. A long tribute to Alden Aaroe. I can remember listening so intently to my dad's clock radio as that was the official word on whether school was closed. While I am not as old as others in this thread, it took a whole lot more to close the schools back then. Now somebody spills a slurpee on the road they shut it down. Nobody described a winter storm and the effects on RIC better than he did. OK, back to hoping for a pattern shift and something to track so I don't have to keep reliving the snow of my youth. Kevin Druff
If you ever needed a summary for the weather in Richmond during the winter, today is it: 37.5* and raining. This is better than 70* and sunny, but only by the thinnest of margins.
weathervswife
Snowed for a couple of hours up this way. I work on Pantops in Cville and there was about 1/4" on the cars and mulch. At home in Fluvanna, all of the mulch was white and cars were covered, but I'm just going to call it a dusting. However, the seal has been broken and here we go.... Inudaw
Electricity bills for the winter as a whole are going to be pretty low cimpared to the last two years. I dont see any sustained below normal temperature spells for the next two weeks. This will put us to the start of February. Embrace the torch indeed. :-p

Kevin Druff
I see your party and give you.... ^^ Ha! I laugh at your science! Winds are really gusting today, not sure if it's simply getting funneled in to me or is just really windy. I live surrounded by hills on almost all sides, so it's usually pretty calm down here at ground level for me.
