Just realized that it's been a while since the last time a model showed a fantasy snowstorm for N NJ... it's obviously unrealistic coming from the 18z DGEX but nice to look at:

Mt. Earthlight gets three feet, everyone else rains, this is direct from Earthlight.

By far, the coldest gfs run in a while.

Way below average temps in the long range.

The cold isn't as strong as it was on the 0z GFS long range, but it's more sustained. By the end of the run it seems that the cold just keeps on pouring into the northern US. There no real doubt that it will get colder in this time frame, but with a west based -NAO still missing, the question seems to be how much impact the SE ridge has, whether it stays off the coast and keeps most of the cold air to our west like the ECM, or if it falls apart and the strong cold gets here like the GFS.
