Ellinwood
Looks to be a little cool to start, then warm, then a little cool, then warm again and maybe some more cool after that. Will DCA finally hit freezing this month?
Ian
I think there have only been 7 Dec first freezes. Latest is 22? No spreadsheet in front of me.

Bob Chill
DT is going for 2 severe cold shots in early Dec. The way things seem to be evolving I don't see a reason to doubt a couple of transient "cold" shots. Severe? heh
WinterWxLuvr
FWIW, and that's probably very little, the 6z GFS members that I can see have 3 or 4 with "interesting" looks around that same general time frame.

Ian
Berk and DT are not good forecasters. DT is a great teacher though DT overreaches I think more than anything. It's hard to be awesome at everything. Berk is a master at pandering to the public... you gotta dumb yourself down a bit for that.
Bob Chill
DT is also good at sending insults through private messages, and/or calling you names on his facebook page Yea, it's kinda sad too. DT's abrasive and insulting behavior takes away any good that he brings to the table. I used to laugh at some of his stuff but once I saw his true colors I stopped laughin and started hatin. Not a huge fan of the 12z gfs. Nothing in the entire run that shows any real change. Sure the ridge pops off the west coast and hangs but the se ridge keeps flexing, no sign of blocking, and lp just anchored in ak. Not that I was expecting too much but it's never bad to see a little weather eye candy even if it's a digital fantasy.
RodneyS
Google December 5th coincidence I think it's a bigger coincidence that measurable snow has never been recorded in DC on December 1st. Every other day in the period November 22nd to April 9th has had measurable snow, but not the first day of the meteorological winter.
PrinceFrederickWx
BWI has had 10 straight months with above average temps, and 19 of the last 21 months. Gonna be a hard pattern to break.
