It's been a wild year with all the significant weather that has taken place throughout the year. From the rare Christmas storm of the winter of 2010-2011 to the predicted cold snap of early January 2012, it has been nothing short of amazing with the variety of weather we experienced. A severe Spring with major tornado outbreaks, hot Summer with plenty of storms, beneficial rains throughout Fall with the amazing cut-off low event at the end, and so far a met winter that started out mild but very wet potentially flipping to the cold side for January with the possibility for at least one major snowstorm. This year has to be one of the most active I've ever seen in a while across the Southeast. Hopefully we will have much more to follow for next year.

Speaking of next year, time seems to have flew on by. Hard to believe that 2012 is arriving. I remember that it would feel like forever before jumping ahead into the following year but nowadays you hardly think about it when you have been so busy with things, especially as you get older and being that I have been out of high school for two years, it just make it that much quicker . Still, I am ready for the new year to come in so bring it on! I will be turning 21 in April. I might be heading out to eat (either at Ruby Tuesday or Olive Garden) and then come back for more of the New Year celebration at a friend of mine's house. Anyone else have anything interesting they will be doing for the holiday?

jb, I would go:

cold and snow

ice storm

warm and dry

cold and dry

warm and wet

33 and rain

I could go with that except for the ice storm. My trees still show the effects of the big ones we had here 10 years ago. Also, after about 24 hours without power it stops being exciting and you're left with "this sucks".

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have gas fireplace/stove/water heater, so that helps. Guy up the street from me has a generator that automatically kicks in when the power goes out - sweet setup for ice storms.

Here's to hoping for a blockbuster storm this winter...above average ending or not! Who cares about the averages :lmao:

I will be cooking a Lasagna for 12 people for New Year's Eve....Sure wish we had an Olive Garden nearby and we could change the tradition! My mother in law does the New Year's Day dinner so I inherited the New Year's Eve one....We are having it at my sis in laws across the street, so I will put it together at home and cook it over there....Funny, I buy a turkey pan to cook it in its soo much! Another tradition is the chocoloate 4 layer dessert. Then the family all plays games....Gotta get a new one for this year...any ideas for fun family games? We have played Outburst in the past...need a new one.

"Salad Bowl" Get at a nice large table, give each person pieces of paper (the same number pieces of paper as people at the table). Then each person writes down a sentence, any sentence, something fun and funny, then pass to the left or right, your choice....then try to draw what the sentence is......then pass again, then write a sentence according to the drawing......don't look at original sentence.....continue to pass until reaches back to original person. Hillarious as to how the original sentence changes.....fun stuff!!

If you have a good high speed internet connection, watch this in 1080p full screen. It's from my new GoPro camera.

Nice footage, looks like a good camera....makes me want to go back to South Beach. I have to admit (although it's blasphemy on this msg board), I'm actually with Brick on one thing, unless there's a good winter storm, I'd love to have some 69 and sunny days during December and January. I love snow and ice, but misty, windy 41 degree days do not sit well with me.

Awesome! What time's dinner?? :)

My wife is 1/2 Italian. I always wanted her to make lasagna. Finally, when we got married, she did. And she made so much that I think 10 years later, we still have some in the freezer. I guess you should be careful what you ask for! It's good, though. :)

It'd be quite a long drive though :lmao: I have been doing this for several years now....And when we do Italian at our church dinners once a month, I'm EXPECTED to bring it :lmao: Guess I should be proud that sooo many think I am a good cook....But I'm not Italian though....part Cherokee Indian and Irish....

The way this teaching racket is going...wish I could open my own restaurant....That would be tooo AWESOME!!!

Yeah, that's pretty far. But we're talking lasagna, so.... haha! I'm not sure what would be harder...teaching or running a restaurant. They're both pretty tough lines of work.

Anybody ever get nervous waiting on model runs? I get so nervous sometimes i'm shakin' :tomato:

Reminded me of one of my old favorites.

I love that song...Reminds me of growing up in the 80's back when Mtv first started and when they used to play music all the time.

Did y'all see where we made RAH's AFD overnight? :D

AND CURRENT FORECAST LOWS RANGING

FROM THE LOWER TO MID 30S LOOK ON TRACK IN MOST LOCATIONS...ALTHOUGH

A FEW OF THE TYPICAL SHELTERED SITES (I.E. KJNX KTTA KRWI)

ALONG/EAST OF HWY 1 COULD SEE TEMPS FALL AS LOW AS 28-30F BY SUNRISE

ASSUMING A CALM WIND AND MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES THROUGH ~12Z. -VINCENT

Edit - it got down to 28 at KJNX overnight.
