Got some new pages going up today. I have two done so far, will get the rest tonight.

I have all the p-type nomograms for the entire southeast for all the models on one easy to click page. I have FFC and GSP done and should have all the rest tonight. I'm adding them to the link in my sig for Southeast Forecast Products.

Here's Atlanta: http://www.daculawea...omogram_ffc.php

Thanks, Dacula! Your effort is appreciated!

Not surprised considering it is run off the 12z GFS grids after the 18z NAM @ 84hrs, but at this range, not much else to latch on to. DGEX sn maps from this exact period last year were R-rated, and a couple runs verified pretty well, this run is likely allowable to our younger viewers.

if only this could come to fruition

That is HILAROIUS!!! I need to spend some time talking to my father in law to learn how to do some funny things like that! Out of curosity, do you like cartoons like THE FAR SIDE and CLOSE TO HOME? Those are some of my favorites! And that is the type of humor you see there...Nice job keeping us all focused, Robert. That's a scream!!!

Talk about depressing, I was grilling steaks this evening and there were moths flying around.

We are still dealing with the skeeters if we get 2-3 warm days in a row, even with the cold if it isnt sustained for 4-5 days they dont die.....I was sitting in a box blind the other morning and it was 35 out and they were fricken flying around by 9 am as soon as the sun hit the road.

Thank you for some ground truth. I still say the window is one of our best modern technological tools.

Nothing scenic snow wise in the Mnts right now. it looks right at home with the rest of the SE. :ee:

Regarding grilling out: Nothing depressing about that. Get the KC Strips or Fillet Mignons out and fire up the grill!

Although it would be more fun grilling in snow. Cheers!

Models and long range forecast have been really bad. I have no trust in anything I see or hear right now. So going back with years of knowledge/living, it seems that cold winters always have a mid-winter thaw and warm winters a mid-winter cold snap. So my forecast (this is banter), is for a warm start to January with a major cold snap hitting around January 21st and then continuing into the first week of February (if we get snow it will be then). After that, it warms back up and stays that way until mid March when we get another cold snap that causes major freeze problems to plants that have already started their growing season. When it's all done and over all the months will average above normal. ***Just what I'm "feeling" right now.

That's at least as good as the long term models right now!

I certainly learned my lesson the hard way. this place is not what it used to be.......That's the reason I will never again start another thread on this website.

I remember back in the day (Easternwx) you could start a thread in the SE forum about anything weather related you wanted and nobody asked you for hours of research or tons of stats to back up your thoughts. We were a close-knit group back then and we even decided who was going to start the next monthly thread before the end of the month. This is a weather discussion board for crying out load.

As for Weather NC.....I have known him a good while and I think he is doing the best with what he has to work with, and I have no beef with him or Lookout.

If you think this place is harsh, you'd have never made it on WWBB.

Quite frankly, I prefer the culture of the old days to now. Yes, it was more harsh but the quality of information was so much better.

Weenie of the year nominations started today! Get in there and nominate our weenies guys! Go to the OT section of the forums and the thread is pinned.

http://www.americanw...ination-thread/

Folks,

I very proudly nominated Brick, the People's Weenie, easily the most deserving. He's got to be the most loveable weenie in the history of SE wx BB's. This subforum would not be the same without him and we owe him greatly for what he has done. He has still not won the ultimate honor. I'm hoping this year will finally be his turn. He's so incredibly deserving of this high honor since he works so hard at it. Please, folks, don't neglect your power to help make this happen. He needs your votes. Thank you for your time.

“I’m Brick Tamland. When there’s weather to report… I report the weather.”

Wow, I certainly didn't expect my post to be completely deleted. Maybe moved to the Banter thread, but wow. Last week we had quite a bit of discussion about Pittsburgh weather due to a poster visiting for the football game. My one question about the Rockies gets deleted. I guess we must be in Lock Down mode for the impending blizzard.
