Just curious if anyone here has an android tablet and if so do you have any problems posting here using your tablet. For some reason the keyboard will not pop up when I try to post. It works fine on all other sites. I don't know if there is a setting that I need to check that will correct this issue.

I had the same problem with an iPad. The solution was to change to the mobile skin.

Wow! has it been 2 years....Dec 19 2009 I was in my house with no power & 18"! The area looked like a winter war zone with downed trees & abandoned cars everywhere. I was lucky to lose my power for only 54 hrs. On the afternoon and evening of Dec. 18th. We had several hours of 2+" an hour rates with on and off thundersnow. You learn to tell the diff. between transformers & lightning....green vs blue light. several days of very cold weather afterwards. A storm that I will remember for a long time.

By the way while I was in Tuscaloosa you could still see evidence of the tornadoes. Snapped a good shot of a CVS whose Metal signage exterior was still all mangled. Lot's have houses and other buildings looked like the tornado had just happened. Very sad. On a good note though it didn't seem to bother all the frat boy college jerk types who like to drink and say "bro" a lot with a southern accent.

This year, we might just be lucky to get two inches to stay on the ground for an hour. :(

This is pathetic. Just because there's a weak low pressure around the SE coast does not mean that there will be anything resembling snow flying outside the mountains (if even there). The temperatures are god-awful warm. No model shows air anywhere near cold enough to even be talking about mixing, let alone snow that any one of us would care about. Until we get a real pattern change, it's going to be just rain. You guys are going to go insane analyzing the details of the 200 hour GFS.

OK.

I was in Tuscaloosa in late Sept for the Arkansas/Alabama football games hitch was great except for Hogs getting slaughtered. We took a wrong turn after the game and ended up in the tornado area which is extremely close to the UA campus. I was amazed at how little was cleaned up. It looked like a war zone. Auto Zone was about the only business that l looked like it had reopened. Very sad...

It appears those of us south of Atlanta will have to wait until Friday for any meaningful hydrometeor accumulation. This pattern is unbearable. We basically miss the first two rain producers as the bulk of the moisture goes just to our north. Congrats Chattanooga, TN. We should start digging our tunnel to the Tennessee River and begin diverting the water to the Chattahoochee.

Things to be thankful for as we approach Christmas: I'm happy to live in the Southeast. Usually it is mild in the winter, but we still get a shot at snow up in the mid-South. The Deep South even gets a chance once in a while. The reason snow is so special is because it is rare. Trust me!

Speaking of snow, how are the NC mountains looking? Ski areas reporting mainly man-made snow bases. We are waiting to go until the surrounding mountains are snow capped too. Makes for a much more scenic trip. Thanks for the info!

So I can only participate if I am going to do the snow dance, right? It looks like I am participating, in that I'm saying that there will be no snow storm and the pattern is crap. I don't know why that's not okay, when it's okay for other people to overanalyze fantasy storms on 200 hour model progs.

I think it is because you sound like an ass when you post. I for one could give a **** what you think but for some reason you are damn good at pissing people off.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, you don't get to decide what's worthy of discussion.

For the record, I stated earlier that I was skeptical about the prospects for snow because of the lack of cold air delivery. But I didn't do it in a way that implied people were moronic for discussing the possibility. Maybe you could try to tone down the attitude, as long as we're making suggestions.

I do generally think people are morons.

You guys are arguing with WidreMann? LOL! His reputation proceeds him......

from 2005

http://www.easternus...e-on-the-board/

In January of this year, he was really (ahem) excited even with a storm on the horizon...

http://www.americanw...3/page__st__720

I'll never forget back in the WWBB days and he was complaining how the NEXT storm would miss him when it was snowing in RDU! This is his game. He's kind of like the mascot troll on all weather boards I have ever been on.

How do you say your handle anyway, Widre? Is it like (Weeder, Widder or Wider)? Just curious.. :)

so I'm watching twc this morning (I know that could get me kicked off) and I see frozen precip on the radar return in Mid GA? I guess it was virga. then I decide to pull up the nws site and I saw this from Peachtree City. What the heck?

LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...

LONG TERM LOOKS UNSETTLED WITH A SERIES OF SHORT WAVES PROGRESSING

ACROSS THE STATE THROUGH SUNDAY. THERE COULD BE A BREAK BETWEEN

SYSTEMS BUT GFS AND ECMWF HAVE TIMING DIFFERENCES. HAVE KEPT POPS

IN FOR EACH DAY EXCEPT FOR A PERIOD OF LESS THAN 20 PERCENT

SATURDAY NIGHT. LOOKS LIKE THICKNESS VALUES SHOULD STAY ABOVE

CRITICAL VALUES THROUGH THE PERIOD. HOWEVER MODELS ARE GIVING SOME

LOW TEMPERATURES IN THE 30S FOR THE WEEKEND. HAVE KEPT

PRECIPITATION ALL RAIN FOR NOW.

Got some new pages going up today. I have two done so far, will get the rest tonight.

I have all the p-type nomograms for the entire southeast for all the models on one easy to click page. I have FFC and Greenville done and should have all the rest tonight. I'm adding them to the link in my sig for Southeast Forecast Products.

Here's Atlanta: http://www.daculawea...omogram_ffc.php
