1. So you are claiming that because he said that forecasting is tough and no one is perfect MET's should not be criticized or called to task for sensationalism? Riiiiiiiiiigggght.

2. Nope no stats just something I know. Kind of like how most mets on here will probably have a negative opinion of DT.

3. lol I didn't criticize his forecasting methods. I have no idea what his said methods are. I criticized him for being being constantly off the mark for the Southeast and overhyping storms. Again when one MET is off the mark on a regular basis for our area and another is usually right, I'll take the one who is right. To be honest I'm still a little confused as to what you are actually arguing. Are you saying that no MET should ever be criticized by non METs? If you're asking for proof why we dislike I think it's fair to ask for proof why you like and feel what we are saying is wrong.

(1)I wouldn't call JB sensationalist. He is just excited about the way he forecast, and if you have a problem with that then get over it.

(2)Well if you don't have statistics to have back your s$#5 up, then that is YOUR opinion.

(3)I am saying that it's about respect. he knows more than you weather wise and probably has more experience than you. It is unfair to slander him when you only have the standardized knowledge you gain over the internet and not the tacit knowledge JB has accumulated.

Give it a rest. It's played out, and the two of you are doing nothing but cluttering the thread with banter. Oh, wait...

But seriously, give it a rest. You're among a group of people with some sort of sensational respect for his forecasting abilities, and burger is someone who I perceive to be a realist. When it comes to certain forecasters (not naming names, but long-time board members get it), you're going to run into many in this community who disagree with their forecasting style. No one is questioning his knowledge and expertise, but face it, he presents himself as a sensationalist.

Sorry to hear that, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. The holidays are busy enough as-is, I can certainly agree with that!

Well that's your perspective then. Yes, he get excited about weather. I would not call him a "sensationalist" though. I would say he is motivated and driven!

wx4life,

So sorry to hear about your Grandmother. I know it's very hard to lose a loved one but especially this close to Christmas. Thoughts and prayers to your family.

(Back to the regularly scheduled JoeyB man crush thread.)

Holy crap.... if I have to go through another winter on this thread of the freakin bitching about JB or HM I'm going to go cross eyed. Maybe we should start a JB/HM battle thread where only posts about how great or horrible they are are allowed?

I think that's a great idea! Who's starting the thread?? :devilsmiley:

Then we could just sit back and watch the fireworks and not have to be distracted by weather discussions.

(I must confess, I would quite enjoy reading the debate. If nothing else, these posts have been entertaining...)

Maybe I'll put on my Big Dog hat and start it up...

oklahoma st got that shaft. Need a playoff system, would be fun for everybody

Maybe so. If they would have won against a 4 TD underdog in Ames, there would have never been a debate. I will say, as a fan of college football, I really wish there was a playoff as well. That's not the kids at Alabama's fault however. The SEC and ACC commish tried to vote in a +1 format which would have pitted BAMA/OK St and LSU/Stanford this year. Too bad that the PAC 10 (at the time) and the BIG 12 shot that down. Now, we are left with the crappy system that they themselves voted to keep in place. It's a shame.

This is my Christmas and Advent 3 days off this weekend.

Working a 2 week straight stretch here starting Monday including Christmas Eve and Day. Year end cram new product introductions at work that just got put on the calendar Thursday and 24/7 on call support the next 2 weeks.

At least I won't be missing any snow in the mountains, however it is hard working over Christmas. Blessed to have jobs in this economy and you gotta do what ya gotta do.

I am counting on my boss allow me to carry over unused vacation days and hopefully being able to take them if we get a good snow storm in the High Country in late January or February.
