Southwest Flow Event.

It refers to a term that Ekster and I often used to describe storm systems that traveled up the OH Valley that had a strong mid-level (700-500mb) flow from the southwest...not from the S/SE and E like you see in typical coastal storms. We saw a lot of this in 2007-2008 winter when we started referring to those storms as SWFEs.

They typically mean snowfall is very latitude dependent.
