Most of my town has no power and likely won't see it restored before Monday. we didn't lose anything so I can't complain but it certainly sucks on these cold nights

I posted pics from my area in the obs thread. It's still a disaster. I got my power back last night. 72 hours without power. My basement is still flooded. I was pumping out some of the water today.

Opengeo is now wolfsheepsheadbay. I have moved from Manhattan to Scotch Plains. Power is back on, but tons of wind damage here. Also, I think I may one of only a few streets that have power in town. :( We've invited a family to stay with us from Berkeley Heights. Still no power there.

Had no idea you moved to scotch plains. Awesome.

The storm itself was incredible, exciting, and the provided the biggest adrenaline rush since the Boxing day blizzard. You've got to just sit back in awe of the power of nature sometimes. The incessant roar of the wind through the trees between 7-10pm Mon night was nothing short of spectacular, in a possibly terrifying way as someone as said. Nature is both devastating and awe inspiring...

And remember the fact that this was a low-end hurricane in the end(with regards to wind). It's scary to even think of what a cat3-5 hurricane would be like.

I think the damage a cat 1 did in NY/NJ is like getting a major hurricane down south. Although its hard to compare because this was a hybrid bomb.

Here and wife gave birth to our son after the storm thank G-d. Got a little tense about having to go out in the storm to head to hospital. Never lost power but the hospital labor and delivery floor is jammed with patients from two other hospitals.

Congrats bud!!

Congrats. Our son turned 4 today, but we spent the afternoon delivering donations to Staten Island.

When this thread was created, I was a New Englander, of course, as I will be forever, I suppose. But I will also be a New Yorker for a very log time, I think.
