NorEaster17
Using La Nina, Cold PDO, Warm AMO I found combinations along with a negative or positive NAO & PNA. Using November to March Average data. These are the only years that come up with these combinations on the right. First Line(black) is the Average Annual Snow total for that city. There were only 2 years since 1950 with a weak La Nina and those combinations.. Hartford, CT had 80% less than normal snow in 1998-99. Looks like Great Lake & Ohio Valley Areas did well with a Weak La Nina, Cold PDO, Warm AMO, Neg. PNA, Neg. NAO. (1950-51) Working on adding other data such as sunspots and QBO. Edit: If you need sources just ask... All snowfall totals are from NWS specific stations and the teleconnections are through CPC
Mitchel Volk
Thanks for the info, I wished there was a larger sample size.
