aslkahuna
A long duration (LDE) C1 X-Ray event at 0710Z was associated with a disppearing filament (aka an aruptive filament) (DSF) which triggered a Category 1 radiation event with >10MeV proton flux at event levels and recently peaking at 54 pfu. A Full Halo CME was also observed by SOHO and is expected to reach Earth around 1430Z 28 Nov ±7 hours. The possibility exists that a Gemag event will result but the timing is poor for US and European aurora observers. The event points up the importance of filament eruptions in causing Gemags (the October event was also a DSF) since the X-Ray flare and radio bursts were very weak yet we are having significant Geophysical effects. Steve well, that's disappointing...the last event was poorly timed for US viewing as well...
aslkahuna
Latest update for the arrival time of the CME is 1721Z ± 7 hours which is more favorable for European observers but less for us. Steve
aslkahuna
The CME is late. There's an apparent hit though showing up in the GOES Hp data which could be the impact. Observers are advised to monitor the data. Steve
