28.0 here in Fuquay Varina

19 in greenville nc

20 in New Bern NC

clouds have not arrived in that part of the state yet...but if the precip can get there early enough....it could be a mess fast!

its actually 17.5 at my house in greenville, been holding steady for a while now.... but youre right.... the brine would be useless on roads

That is flipping amazing!!! Congrats SF :)

between 11:00 pm last night to current, this makes FOUR calendar days this month that a trace of frozen precip has fallen this month (and none compares to Feb 12th of this year lol). Amazing last December didn't hit our first freeze until the very end of the month, and this month, seems like just about every day has been below freezing.

Eyewall - "Awesome Stormsfury! That is great all the way down there. If I am going to bust here I wouldn't mind as much if the precip falls early."

Got a chance to speak with John at KCHS tonight for about 20 minutes and we were talking about Feb 12th of this year and also what's going on here. actually rather amazing about of forcing and ascent with the s/w swinging thru GA into the Carolinas now but the low levels again have really been eating up the light precip except for some of the heavier echoes and bright bands, but unlike the prior 2 events this month, the air is saturating with stronger forcing. too bad at least down here the cold air isn't going to stay locked.

How can you sleep during a possible winter weather event? No matter how small...lol

I already knew I would not fall asleep!

Generally I don't. But I have a 10 AM Final Exam tomorrow! devilsmiley.gif

It's just meteorology and I have an A in the class and the exam shouldn't be too difficult, though, so if I am to pull an all-nighter and screw up my sleep schedule, this is the class to do it for.

What temp are you at storm?

I've risen to 34º, but TD's are still in the mid 20's. light rain, with bouts of sleet and snow continue to mix in with heavier returns due to wet bulbing and evaporational cooling processes aloft. A nice bonus tonight, I saw the potential for some sleet (and the soundings supported it) but the snow flurries and light snow mixing in was a complete surprise to me tonight.
