tgarren
I notice that all the time. It is not really a heat Island affect I don't believe. Asheboro is not a big city. There is a significant change in elevation between Asheboro and Ramseur of like 400 feet with Asheboro at 900 or so and Ramseur around 500 causing a temperature inversion. Its not like that when the wind is blowing from the North. Asheboro may be a degree less or so then. is it on a hill becuase its the same way to the west and to the north. once out of the dixie drive area the temp drops like a rock. Marion_NC_WX
I generally like how the precip is trying to fill in North of I-40 in Tennessee...if that translates over the mountains overnight and in the morning we'll have something to talk about in Northern and Western North Carolina. Was lucky enough to get out of the 1 & 3 final with A's throughout, 2 did not grant the reprieve. All courses without the TI-89 on tests. 2 is the most difficult, after that your become fluent in the math and start applying it towards your physical science. Lookout
Anybody seeing anything? Light freezing rain/drizzle continues here. Temp 30, dp 27. Light Glaze of ice over everything, walked up to the road and there is ice on there too.. Amazing enough, despite FFC's discussion about all those wrecks and the fact it's been 29/30ish the last few hours with freezing rain, NO advisory for athens and here. It's not because we expect a lot more freezing rain but because it's been ongoing the last few hours and as has been evidenced by today, it's not taking very much at all to cause road problems. I don't get it but then again this is ffc.
