If only you had heeded my advice before the end of last winter, we might not have had to endure 13 hours of non-accumulating snow in early March! thumbsupsmileyanim.gifSnowman.gif

were they needles?

South Carolina > North Carolina, except during snow events.

Fixed.

I see the crew has a sense of humor today, must be the weather. :lmao:

No love for Goldsboro...

weathernc are you chasing for this? i dont really know what to expect in greenville

Not this event, need a good chance of 12" plus to pull the trigger and make it memorable, wind helps too. Weekend system is being watched carefully as that may be a good candidate in the SE VA area, or even NE NC if some of the more amplified guidance verifies, but don't have my hopes up. Was only slated for 1 this winter, per the wife's guidance, but would love to get one under the belt in Dec, as that opens the door for a second in the Jan-Mar window, similar to last winter. :snowman:

12/15 3:10PM UPDATE: SERVER UPGRADE IS IN PROGRESS*

The site's data is now being migrated over to our new server. What this means is that posts made between now and until the data migration is complete will be LOST. We will notify everyone of our new IP via our twitter page and facebook. Most folks should be able to access the site without issue once the upgrade is complete. We will post any needed updates to Facebook and Twitter should the board go down for an extended time. For those who don't use either, Twitter is probably the easiest to follow: http://www.twitter.com/americanwx

It looks like getting rid of my Bloo Q Kazoo avatar worked. I'm now under a WWA. :arrowhead: Oh and cloudy here with a temp of 35. Light winds.

ok i was trying to stay out of the avatar discuss. i can keep quiet no more. DO NOT GO BACK lol

just got home, its 34 and cloudy, and just saw the wwa  woo hoo. of course with a dewpoint of 7 its going to be virga a while :snowman:

Oh, i'm definitely not. :) I'm honestly not expecting much tonight. I'm just suprised GSP put me under a WWA.

i cant believe it either - your area and mine are usually the last ones to get advisories (last special wx statement here? who knows it was too long ago). the last few events have started before anything wsa issued

of course, the last few years several were issued and we got nada. fingers are crossed big time that ne ga and the upstate get in the fun :guitar:

Good Luck on your exam. I don't miss those.

They're definitely stressful! Especially my Chemistry exam last week. Fortunately, I did well on that exam, raising my grade from a C- to a B- in CHEM 101 (not one of my strongest subjects). The stress was really high for that exam since if I got below a 68% or so, I would have failed the class (you need a C- or higher to pass CHEM 101 at NCSU), but I got a B- on the exam and all was well! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

The Calculus exam should be pretty difficult, but I don't worry too much about the meteorology exam as it shouldn't be too difficult.

I've seen a bunch of reports around greenville/greer of flurries in the last couple of hours on the FOX 21 blog. Was pumped to see us in a WWA for the evening....could be a late night or very early morning, will decide later!

Still too dry on this side of town (NE of Atlanta). The larger band that came through just evaporated right as it got here. My wet bulb is still 26-27 range. The temp is just now starting to trend downward and the humidity is rising at 7%/hr. Starting to moisten up. Just send more precip so things will start to happen. We officially have flurries here now and it's starting to get darker, the clouds are lower and thicker. You can see the snow higher up, it's just not getting here yet.

Temps have dropped .2-.3 since I've been typing this.

The NWS servers that feed the radar images seem to be slow right now... I wonder why? Snowman.gif
