For those interested in road conditions in the triad, this link seems to be reasonably up to date with the latest traffic conditions.

Thanks! I'm trying to decide if its better to go now or two hours from now. Maybe not much difference.

Nice glaze of ice. Light freezing rain coming down now. Schools are on a 2 hr delay.

AshevilleDon, Whats it like in Buncombe?

34.8 imby. up from 26.4 at 3:00 AM. Kids are out of school for the 6th day already this year. We are never the big winners in this type of event up towards Weaverville. More of a escarpment deal. We got about .01 of fzr & sleet last night about 11 ish. Congrats to all those that are the big winners!

30.4 and freezing rain i believe. my work is opening at 10 in GSO. i have been told roads are ice rinks this morning. so nice my employer values the safety of its employees. we actually had a guy flip his car last year trying to get to work in the snow and ice. they wont learn till someone gets killed.

And the thing is the roads are just going to be worse then. Raleigh police are already playing catch up with all the wrecks.
