TheTrials
I will say this again. The ensembles have been colder than the op runs for several runs. Either the ensembles are on crack or the gfs has no clue. both

SnoSki14
Don't sound bad as much as most of us love cold snow I don't think people would be as upset with 70 and sun as they think We already get that 6-7+ months out of the year with 3 months of mid 80s+ temps. If I wanted 70 and sun constantly I would be in southern California or Florida or even the tropics.

Our averages are 5 months with 70+ highs and 3 months of 80+ highs.

Agree.....but I also agree with his general idea........if I don't see 40+ for the next 4 months, I would not lose sleep. We had our warm weather fun. NYCSuburbs
Yesterday's models already underestimated today's warmth, perhaps they could also be doing the same for tomorrow? The NAM has been consistently trending warmer, and the 0z NAM now shows nearly 70 degrees for NE NJ again.

tmagan
With strong winds aloft tonight along with southerly winds surface and aloft maximizing the transfer of momentum along with appreciable 700 mb dew point depression values, we could see some strong winds in any heavy showers tonight. Only negative would be an inversion just above the surface.
SnowGoose69
Lol going to hear weenies shortly. Thats the good news on tonight's EC, the bad is what is occurring up in AK at 240 hours, it appears another massive vortex is ready to setup. atownwxwatcher
Not seeing a bad prog for a 240 hr ensemble means on the ECM when it is showing more cold air dumping into the central conus... Have we not learned that models have enough of a hard time with in 120 hrs yet alone something beyond that time frame....

TheTrials
For the weenies, Euro has a miller b light snowfall next tuesday pretty much misses you as it all falls east of Mt. Earthlight. Euro comes up with these whacky solutions once in a while just to tease the weenies. It won't look anything like that at 12z.

LOL-that year seems long forgotten after these past few years...I remember that January being torchy all month long and no storms. What a waste of the climo coldest month. JB is humping this solution-probably figures if he can throw the weenies a bone with a snowfall, then they wont rise up when the big torch comes and his Dec forecast goes into the scrap heap.
