The Iceman
I am just happy to see snow falling in this crappy pattern. Agreed...there was no cold air with this storm...my expectations were curbed to that alone...
canderson
Yup, saw the writing on the wall last night with this one. Good storm, wrong time. We'll probably wait until January for a serious threat now, huh?
Porsche
Snow mixing now in Leola, 15 minutes outside of Lancaster, expecting maybe a coating. Still happy to see it snowing in a pretty poor pattern.
Santa Clause
Well guys with this failure I realized how much time I waste on the weather. Taking a long break from here and looking at anything weather related. Next time it is actually snowing i'll join with my obs. Till then see ya everyone. Sounds like me...but worse lol. Ya win some, ya lose some. In NCPA you get used to it...a pleasant numb feeling lol.
PSU8315
A good reminder at how hard it is to get a good snowfall in a rain to snow situation, especially when there is no source of cold air to tap. That is, unless you live on a mountain...
PennMan
You on 501 or 645/Pin Grove Road/Lookout Point? I was up on 645. Nasty mix here at home at 560', temp is 35.1°.

Its where I took those pics from the Oct storm. So only a coating up there? Trying to decide if I want to wake up to go out tomorrow.

I think they will probably manage at least an inch up top, should get another hour of decent snow at least. If only we could say the same here in the valley. Santa Clause
So...any other threats out there?? Or is it a post-christmas wait from here?
Porsche
So...any other threats out there?? Or is it a post-christmas wait from here? From what I'm hearing probably not till Mid January at this point, AO and NAO not looking good, and the MJO is not doing much for us either. PennMan
Finally had a few minutes of all snow here around 11:45-50. I'd say this was a fairly typical rain to snow bust.

sauss06
I'm starting to think following weather is a sport, not a hobby! The past couple days really confirmed, we have an awesome group of posters in here.
paxpatriot
Epic bust for a lot of people, but then again we all knew this was a thread the needle set-up. Maybe something showing up on Dec. 14-15 on the models? Looks really iffy again, but at least it's a chance.

hckyplayer8
Just proves how much you need to put in stock of climate/history/ typical meteorlogical knowledge. Nuetral NAO and no low level cold feed into the storm usually means 95% rain 5% snow unless you are well inland at an elevated position. Looking back at the mountain today, the first Blue Mountain has nadda. The second is very white....would say at least an inch.
