0Z NAM is juicier but warm. Maybe I'll go to bed early and wake up at 3am and see if it's snowing. Hey Mets....any chance precip could be heavy enough for a while for dynamic cooling to get things snowing and sticking more than expected?

Dynamics aren't going to be impressive enough to produce much in the way of significant cooling....will need to completely saturate all levels, and hope for a bit of CAA....I'm afraid that it is going to take a good deal of the night to cool the lower elevations enough (where the shallow warm air is) as wet bulbs look stubborn. Above 1200', changeover should occur quickly enough across all of NYS to provide a few inches....at most. Lower elevations might squeak out an inch of slop very early tomorrow morning....

Well then, it's off to bed with sweet dreams of wet puddlely slop. My galoshes are waxed, shined and ready to go. Good luck to all tonight with this silly warm storm.

I don't blame you for getting some sleep. I'm at 1,400 feet and am at 39.2 With no real cold air to draw from, and dewpoints where they are, this dog just ain't gonna hunt.

36 degrees, moderate rate. Changeover looks to be happening relatively soon. Hoping for a few inches by the morning!

Hate to say it cause i want snow tomorrow morning just as much as you but it aint gonna happen. Back edge is fastly approaching WNY and by the time the air is cold enough below 1200ft the precip will be on its way out. Dusting at best.

Heavy snow at holiday valley for the last hour. Webcams clearly showing it. Elevation around1500-2000 feet.

No doubt theyll see an inch or two outta this but man is the back edge of that precip bookin it in here. At this rate itll be clear of WNY by 2am. Got .15" in the rain gauge so far all of which is rain obviously. Another non event for the 2011-2012 season (unless you have 1500+ ft of elevation)!

It wasn't supposed to be an event though...All forecast have been perfect in my area this year. That 3-7 inches we got 4.3, so far so good. The pattern just blows.

Yeah perfect for YOU. I had a warning on that Dec 9th event with NWS calling for 5-9" and just managed to scrape up 2". Not coming at the NWS at all because they do a great job just saying where I am weve really gotten next to nothing so far and was looking foward to maybe seeing the grass covered up but now thats not even going to happen here.

Just pathetic. And even the totals so far for the cities are virtually backwards :axe:

And on tonights "event" the radar at KBUF clearly shows some serious bright banding going on just N of BUF right now... Temp is 37 degrees with a nice rain coming down. Back edge of the precip fast approaching now as well.

I've got my 7.6 on the year! That one night pulling into my driveway from Eden to Hamburg the snow was deep enough to hit the rim of the car. It got me my snow "fix" for the next couple weeks. Hopefully things change soon though.

Lucky you! lol. Just a thought here, Buffalo's average to date is almost 30" and we have 3". 30" is about 1/3 of Buffalo entire winter average so if we see just 3" for every 30" thats supposed to fall we'd land up with a lousy 9" for the entire season. Now obviously I know thats NOT gonna happen but its definitly something to think about that'll make you realize just how little snow weve had so far.
