Welp, can't attach multiple files, so it'll have to be one at a time. I don't remember one like this. The Halloween blizzard was a longer duration event with not as much wind on the back side. This is all powder and yet the accumulations are ridiculous. I'll let the pictures do the talking. For reference, the hot house next to which the kids are standing is 6 feet high...

The state Department of Transportation declared Saturday night that an almost 150-mile stretch of I-94 between Tomah and Hudson was impassable after heavy snow pummeled the area for much of the day.

Although the interstate was not closed, the declaration of it being impassable means that motorists should exit and find safe shelter for the night, according to the department.

At the Wisconsin State Patrol Northwest Region Eau Claire post, Lt. Jeff Lorentz said that there were too many accidents to count and that hundreds of cars were in ditches. Authorities were having difficulty getting some people from their cars.

"It's a rough situation," said Lorentz, adding that since the snow started falling shortly after midnight. The area now has about a foot of accumulation, and Lorentz said the total would reach 18 inches before it's over.

"Our biggest concern now is the dropping temperatures and the winds," he said.
