daddylonglegs
Be interesting when MKE turns over... Still was showing 39F when i last looked, but MSN is/has turned...it can only be a matter of time. Going to be some insane driving around these parts once that wind comes in. The ridge tops are going to be impassable.
KeenerWx
Snow on the ground right now has enough water content to where you could throw a snowball and dent a car. Thanks, rain, for making my snow incredibly dense. It's going to be a hard block of ice underneath whatever snowfall we get from this system/lake effect. A-L-E-K
the 850 analysis loop on the spc meso page is cool, you can see the 0 850 line lag behind the edge of the precip and then slowly start over taking it the past couple frames. Chistorm and the western burbs should be mixing now.

hawkeye_wx
I got a half inch of snow before the dry slot lifted through. I see both the Des Moines and Quad Cities NWS think several inches could fall across much of Iowa overnight. I'd love 6 inches, but I can't help but be skeptical we'll get that much from the defo band.

Ian
Almost all snow in downtown Madison, not surprising with the temp being 1.0 °C on top of the met building. Heavy band of snow associated with edge of dry slot is about to come in, but I have a feeling we're in the perfect spot to stay out of the dry slot but in the best snow. We shall see it's a tough game but it's worth it if it pays off

michsnowfreak
I will admit I am a bit worried as the surface temps look to be at or slightly above freezing with the a lot of the snow, so im wondering if that would cut down accums.

msp
Shakopee and a couple others are up to 18. Should top 20 quite easily. bloomington now over 15 as well. edina just about to 14. one runway now open and closed in cycles for plowing. i'd hate to be on one of those planes landing toward the end of the opening. delta has canceled all flights anyway. my dad tried to drive just to the next neighborhood over a couple hours ago and barely made it in a four-wheel drive. strib reporting 129 crashes since midnight and 561 vehicles sliding off the road statewide. Worse yet, the forecast on the NW side of Toledo (per NWS Cleveland) is 8-14" under a winter weather advisory.
