B-Rent
We have been in this clearslot all freaking day. Just a T of snow so far. Lots of bare ground still. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk

illinois
Happily surprised here in Olney. At about 12 p.m. measured several spots that were just over three inches. Considering I was expecting an inch at the most I'll take it.
Chicago WX
Let's make it an even 5,000 Definitely. Looks like one more band to move through here and that'll be it for quite awhile. Saw IND is up to 0.8" at 1PM...they should do quite well when it's over and done.
daddylonglegs
Short video... Gives you an idea of what we have here. We get much more and i'm going to have to start pulling snow off the roof.

Your posts about no accumulation are going a bit too far though.
Indystorm
Heavier band moving into my area of Elkhart now from the north. Visibility dropping.

I think an inch total will be about the best we can hope for. It is snowing the best it has all day currently.

boiler1111
snow trying to get going here. Trying being the key word - at least the ground is still white here in the western burbs...The rain/mini-torch yesterday didn't completely decimate the snowpack. OHWxWatcher
ILN still calling for just 2-4 inches total for us. I'm looking at about 2 inches right now so there is definitely the potential to bust high. Radar returns are scattered so it will be dependent on being in the right spot. I'd say we have a strong 2" here. It was falling pretty heavily around noonish but has since slacked off. Heavy stuff for even a snowblower to bite through. The one constant so far has been the steady wind that has kept the roads fairly snow covered.
Hoosier
Precip has filled in quite a bit in northern IL, although mostly light with some embedded heavier pockets.
turtlehurricane
8.9" as of noon at MSN. Absolutely hammered last night with periods of blizzard conditions. It appears that the equipment at MSN had a hard time getting accurate precip amounts during the heaviest part of the storm.
The_Global_Warmer
Ended up with 3 inches or so, but its blowing like crazy, roads are terrible, and there is one more band of heavy snow about 30 min worth about to come threw which will just get things a bit worse. roads still crowded, cars in ditches or accidents. the winter weather advisory for 2-4 inches in our area most has fallen and these winds is wrong IMO. I am not saying to pretend we have a foot with 50mph winds. but winter weather advisory is not taken to serious here. because we get quite a few for much MUCH MUCH lesser events. they need a better warning system. Hoosier
Is there a threat for the potential ice event towards the middle of this week? I see Paducah has ice in their zones. Looks iffy - but something to watch - Tuesday night into Thursday. http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php?/topic/2985-1215-1216-mvgl-snow-event/page__pid__96798#entry96798
TruePatriot
Here is some video I took of the blizzard warning in Minnesota. This is from Burnsville, which is about 20 miles south of Minneapolis. By storm reports, received near 18 inches. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPhHnKGBz7w
