daddylonglegs
I want to go sledding. We have a hill by the big bluff here called "Suicide"... Its not really that dangerous unless you start at the parking lot. Those snow tubes work the best. Sleds dig too much, especially in this heavy snow. Sometimes i pop the snow tubes and have to return them for fresh ones

hawkeye_wx
The strong north wind has arrived here. The defo band snow is closing in. It appears the heaviest snow may actually end up to my southwest. There is already a report of about 5 inches in Ottumwa.

Ottawa Blizzard
I haven't checked the board all day, but it looks like this storm is a write off for Ottawa. It wouldn't surprise me if we saw mostly rain. Temperature is -1.5C at my plae currently. So much for the blizzard originally forecast for us four days ago. It's February 2009 all over again

WisTodd
Started raining here about 3-3:10pm. Started mixing with snow about 4:30 and was fully changed over by 4:45pm. 10:30pm measurements in an undisturbed area yield 5.8". Temp is very steady at 31.4F and wind still isn't that big a deal -- yet. "Here" is 40 miles north of Milwaukee and 12 miles inland from Lake MI, at 1000' ASL. Just a few miles NW of Random Lake, WI. EDIT -- Snow rate has been remarkably consistent. Visibility 1/2 to 3/4 mile past 6.5 hours.

daddylonglegs
How much snow in YBY? I just got done shoveling, and I'd say around 13 - 14 inches. It's hard to say because it's blowing so much, and I've shoveled 4 times today . . .
TheWeatherPimp
Not much expected until tomorrow afternoon.. I understand that but there is still the potential for light freezing drizzle, light snow, gusty winds and a flash freeze. Those hazards themselves should have warranted starting the winter weather advisory this morning IMO.
