ptb127
A little too close? It just about comes up 95. Either nice to have something to track. It's east of I-95 (12z runs) looks like it's over NJ. Wouldn't be all bad for everyone posting in this thread... and a changeover would occur behind the storm. Thunder Road
lol the 0z Euro is a lakes cutter, and the 0z GFS is OTS. shows we still have a lot of work to do. Gut feeling is this winter is turning into and 07-08 redux rather quickly, where every potential that pops up disappears right away again. really though, with a +AO +NAO regime it's going to take a lot of work to get any decent snow event before a pattern change. Voyager
My parents' front yard... too green for Christmas... I took this one yesterday (Christmas) morning. It's a straggler that continues to hang on despite the fact that it's winter time. It gets the mid-day through late afternoon sun, and is "somewhat" protected from frost by our porch roof, but the fact is, it has not ever been in the house. Not even on the coldest nights. NaoPos
12z GFS carries the SLP for tomorrow-wed threat straight up the spine of the apps: ....... Decent winds showing up the models. Not sure of the raw numbers, but looks to be 2 "waves" of winds.. with the warm front initially, maybe 10-15kts in philly's backyard.. then as the low departs and we get the NW flow, the winds look to start howling. sustained 18-23kts for a couple hours. not sure what they're showing for gusts though. some isolated spots of 23-28kts. fyi, 20kts=23mph, 30kts=34mph.. Yeah, it's a rough start but it's a cold day up there (mid 30's)...they can at least make snow in this weather after sunset... There were a few flurries in the air as I was leaving the Poconos earlier after spending Christmas Day/Night up there.
The Iceman
Yea. My 2 buddies bought the 3lift tix for 99$.. SUCKERS!! I can't imagine How bad it's been. i'm up in new hampshire and my brother went skiing today...he texted me saying he's never seen so few trails open this late in the season(we go up every christmas) but conditions were pretty good on the ones that are open. There really hasn't been any great skiing weather anywhere in the country so far this year save for new mexico. I usually don't like the pocono's in good years(too many people/too few trails/rarely good conditions all day) but this year has got to be just brutal. I bet it's an ice sheet by noon at every mountain there.
