Redmorninglight
Not storm related, but was bitten by mosquitoes earlier while outside cleaning paintbrushes. My dogwood shrub is starting to break its buds. This sometimes happens during January thaws. At least i can air out the paint fumes in weather like this. mattinpa
NAM got colder since 18z. Odds of accum. snow for the city and burbs are sliim, but the tracking will be fun.

phils1
Detailed video discussion on the latest 12Z GFS and 12Z NAM model runs at http://spam.com/category/phl/ with a focus on the much more similar handling by the models of the upper level system associated with this potential storm. Both models suggest snow late Wednesday night and early Thursday in the Mid-Atlantic region, including the I-95 corridor, with some accumulations possible. Lady Di
Well at least temperature wise it will feel 'tis the season for a couple of days. Remaining optimistic that other than a few sprinkles or showers we don't get a storm like that last one before it gets to winter, which may be Jan. now from what you all are seeing. Then again, perhaps Santa should bring everyone in SE PA some new rain gear, sump pumps, or possibly a row boat. 2011 what an unbelievable year on the weather calendar. Parsley
ditto! I'll will walk my yard tomorrow in day light with water proof boots on and see how deep the standing water is. ho hum week with seasonal temps. I did that yesterday, several areas with atleast 1 inch of standing water. I would like to get one last mowing in too, maybe one day next week. I also noticed Daffadils poking through the dirt. Usually see something like that during a January thaw, not in December.
ChescoWx
AM Low here in East Nantmeal 27.4 Sea Isle City NJ - 35.4 Kind of interesting to note that there has not yet been a sub 32 temp at the beach in Sea Isle City. This is the first fall season I have had a weather station at the beach and it is amazing the impact the barrier island proximity to the water has on keeping it much warmer than spots just inland. I saw the Ocean View golf course just 4 miles inland from my station was in the 20's again this morning

Get inland just a bit (a mile or so) and sandy soils will help places that close to the ocean radiate like crazy. Take a look at a place like FOK (Westhampton Beach on Long Island)......just last night they were in the lower 20s.

I noticed that our mums started to come back while I was trying to make some additional room for Christmas decorations. I think I could use one more mow too, but I think I am just going to leave it at this point...

mattinpa
42 degrees; feeling more like December for a change. 12z GFS looks pretty nice around Christmas, but I'm not expecting much for the next 10 days unless the models start looking better about the pattern. Hands didnt wanna work as good as if it were warmer, but got the job done. It was nice to see the crystal blue sky today with some passing clouds.
