I'm pretty interested in the mid-week potential as well.......for once we're not looking at the 384 GFS, it's only a couple of days away. If the arctic air is a little stronger than expected, could be a nice little event.

Snow starting to stick at my house. I definitely was not expecting this. Where is the lift coming from. I thought we were supposed to lose the dendrite growth in the upper levels? Now I'm worried about school being delayed because we have exams this week.

I'm begining to wonder if cancel option might be on table. Still flaking IMBY and with temps falling like a rock, 2 extra hours in the a.m aint gonna help.

I'd say I'm at about a half an inch so far today. The ground is pretty well covered. All from flurries and light snow showers! No real snow on the radar over me at any point....though some blue is finally moving in now. And the wind is making for quite a show!

Question for the mets here...does evaporative cooling still happen once youre well below freezing? I know sublimation can happen, but does it have the same cooling effect as when liquid water evaporates? Just wondering why I've been at a temperature well above my dewpoint all day with constant snow flurries.

That is more than likely because of the intensity and the fact that dry air at the surface is moving in. If the precip intensity was much higher then your temp would have likely fell closer to the DP.

Snowing pretty good now south of Atlanta. Best I've seen all day. (light snow)

Gotta love it. Snow showers made for awesome sights in the ATL metro today.

Still got flurries here flying around here in Dacula.

Plenty of returns to go....may your lawn get dusted.:scooter:

Blow it this way.

Got about 1/2" today. That picture I posted earlier this afternoon was the heaviest I've seen here. That lasted about 20 minutes and whited everything. Have had a steady light snow since. Temp is down to 21 so it is bone chilling cold.
