It does seem like all our winter events in the last couple of years have been during the middle of the afternoon. I guess with afternoon temps in the upper 20's right now though, beggars can't be choosers.

It will be dark by 5 PM.

As cold as it is, I dont think it will much matter. Just my .02

the snow intensity has really increased in the last couple of minutes, as well as the wind. its 27 and snowing sideways lol

yes it is! and if it lifts out the right direction, ne ga and the upstate might not be downsloped :devilsmiley:

All the bands that are coming through Rosie's by and your house are coming straight to me. Love how it just keeps developing!

This next batch looks a lot more impressive to me

.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...

BY EARLY THURSDAY...MODELS FAIRLY CONSISTENT WITH BRINGING SURFACE

LOW THROUGH THE ARKLATEX REGION...PULLING GULF MOISTURE ACROSS THE

SOUTH...AND TRACKING THE LOW OVER INTO THE TENNESSEE VALLEY BY

THURSDAY AFTERNOON. MODELED THICKNESS VALUES SUGGEST WE COULD SEE A

RAIN...FREEZING RAIN MIX ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTH AND CENTRAL

GEORGIA OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY AND INTO EARLY THURSDAY WHEN

TEMPERATURES ARE NEAR OR SLIGHTLY BELOW FREEZING. AMPLE CLOUD COVER

COULD KEEP THINGS A LITTLE WARMER THAN GUIDANCE IS INDICATING...SO

IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE TO JUST SEE RAIN. FOR NOW...WENT AHEAD AND

MENTIONED IT AS THICKNESS VALUES AND TEMPERATURES LOOK REASONABLE.

NOT EXPECTING ANY ACCUMULATIONS AS TEMPERATURES THURSDAY SHOULD GET

WELL ABOVE FREEZING...AND ANY PRECIPITATION SHOULD SWITCH OVER TO

RAIN AFTER 12Z. SYSTEM SHOULD MOVE OUT OF THE AREA BY LATE

WEEK...AND HIGH PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE IN BEHIND FRONTAL

PASSAGE.

ALTHOUGH INCREASED CLOUD COVER WILL KEEP HIGH TEMPERATURES NEAR

NORMAL...LOWS WILL BE WARMER THAN NORMAL...WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE

40S. BY MID WEEKEND EXPECT HIGHS IN THE 40S AND LOWS IN THE 20S.

Man it's brutal out there with the wind. Temp 31 and winds are gusting to 35mph plus. I've had on and off flurries all afternoon and just had the best shower I've had yet. Not enough to stick of course and Nothing impressive to say the least but I'm happy to see anything as usually I'm left out completely in situations like these.

Going to be really brutal tomorrow. Those 20 to 30mph winds are going to bite with temps in the teens and 20s.

Just drove up about 3 miles NE to go to Lowes. Got our Christmas Tree in the snow!:weight_lift: It was pouring snow up there... seriously. Light accumulation in the grass. Then I get home and it didn't even look like it had snowed :axe:

Send it on over! We're still having light snow with a good dusting on top of expose surfaces (car, deck, etc.). Down to 27.

Getting moderate/heavy rain with the sun partially out and the wind is blowing it sideways.

Just very cool to see something like this.

whats interesting about that mass that started around here and went through Hickory is the NAM had it showing up for several runs. Still not cold enough for it to be snow or sleet here with it though. REally windy out now and the temp is falling. Now 44.

By far, the heaviest snow of the day in Adairsville. Visibilities down to about 1/2 mile.

Awesome  Back to flurries here, and the car is once again mostly bare after a powerful gust of wind (I think there is a wind tunnel effect going on between the house and the hill beside it). Plenty of snow in sheltered areas though.
