borderwx
Yup looks like the warm air wins out around here with the projected track. Backside flurries .... Is that like Ass dandruff? thanks red, just snorted my water through my nose. feel like I'm back on the water in Maine, pea soup. 34F
tamarack
Light rain and 36 here in AUG, same thing since 9 AM. As others have noted elsewhere, wasting qpf. GYX midmorning update keeps the foothills at 3-5", and WWA for the mts. However, their snow tool, posted at about the same time (9:30) shows zippo for Farmington and 1.5" in Rangeley. NEK_VT_Upslope_Event
This snow is important for the mountains. Blowing snow on top of a real base has to be better--at least psychologically--for all involved...
wxeyeNH
Wow, looking at the 18Z NAM is this system really going to bomb out. Looks more intense and further NW but when the cold air comes in its going to snow hard for a time. Strong NW winds with blowing and drifting for a few hours on the backside? NAM seems to have alot of QPF still left once the 850mb 0F line comes through. Tough forcast for Central NH. Timing of changeover is critical for snow amounts! ctsnowstorm628
36.8 here in Lyndonville. Calling for 4-7" here. we'll see how long it takes for the cold air to come in. If the 18z NAM verfies it'll be much more than 7", but I think its too far NW

The only problem this year is all the water.
hvysnow79
I see that NWS is thinking more snow for my area, both Gray and Burlington have upped to Winter Storm Warnings calling for 4-8". Currently 39F with some light rain falling.
J.Spin
I thought I was seeing the occasional flake among the rain when I was driving to the house around 6:15 P.M., and I couldn’t confirm it, but as of ~6:50 P.M. snow definitely started to mix in. As I’ve been writing this, the precipitation has changed over fully to snow (7:00 P.M., T=34.9 F). Initially I think our point forecast had us changing over to snow at some point late tonight, but now it just says snow:

eekuasepinniW
The wind is totally insane right now and shaking the building hard enough to wake me up... heard a couple big snaps in the pine trees across the street. Super annoying that's it's coming straight across the bay rather than down it so my anemometer only got 36 mph. These are easily 50mph+

MaineJayhawk
How'd you boys (and girls, if present) do in the hills? I could only muster a rain/snow mix, so it'll go down as a miserable "T". Snow board deployment FTL. Looks like next chance doesn't come til next weekend.

red
Ripping here on the back end of the storm. According to the news the changeover occurred around 4am. measured 1" on the gravel driveway and 1.5" on the vehicles. Might push 2" before it ends. Looks like the intensity keeps up until the bitter end.
Lava Rock
zippo here. Seasonal temps for a few days, warm up thereafter and more rain. Is that how it's gonna play out? yeah, I'm getting more bitter as time passes
hvysnow79
Ended up with 1.8" of cement out there...roads were snow covered where the plows hadn't got too. Although much lower than was looking for, kind of relieved with how heavy this stuff was, could have caused some problems if we got much more with the gusty winds already starting to kick up. j24vt
2.9" inches on the snowboard this morning. Probably closer to an inch on the ground because there was a great deal of melting since the ground still has not frozen.
J.Spin
Here’s the north to south list of snow totals I’ve seen for some of the Vermont resorts that are reporting so far: Jay Peak: 4” Smuggler’s Notch: 6” Stowe: 4” Sugarbush: 4” Killington: 5” Okemo: 4” Mount Snow: 2.5”
mreaves
About 5 inches on the elevated surfaces like the table on my deck and about 3 on the gravel driveway. It flipped to snow around 6:30 at my house but was still raining at 8:00 when I went to Hannaford's at the bottom of my hill. Here in downtown Montpelier, it looks like about 2 inches. klw
3 inches on the nose in Peacham. It was frozen to everything- like blown in closed cell insulation. It was a pain to get off the cars but with the clouds breaking up it was beautiful this morning. No time for pics unfortunately. It was also 24 with a nasty wind at times- quite cold. Allenson
Rained hard for a while last evening, turning over to snow by 10:00pm last night. Ended up with 2.5" of a wet, yet frozen pasting. Ditto, klw. Truck was plastered/frozen this morning and a pain in the arse to clean up. Looked nice out there though:

wxeyeNH
2" up here on the hill. About 1/2" down in Bristol NH. Lost power for a couple of hours around 6am, winds really cranked for awhile. Wintery scene while it lasts....

I'm sure you had snow at some point towards the end. It was almost straight snow in Portland when I got to work at 5:30 ... and then the back edge came through. 1.5" or so of QPF down the literal drain.
