LMAO....I was going to jokingly post a picture of the old wrestler and turns out he owns the joint....Jeremy...you gotta get a pic with him and post it....

Either way, Abdullah's is still open at 2387 Fairburn Rd SW Atlanta, GA 30331. You can call 'em at 404-629-2332 and check!

0626abdullahbutcher.jpg

Abdullah the Butcher is a legend in pro wrestling circuits, and in 1 week he will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Abdullah was famous for his crazy, blood soaked matches. He was known to bring a fork into the ring and use it to carve up his opponent.

The restaurant is a cafe setting with photos of the Abdullah hung on the walls. In addition, two of his title belts also hang in the dining area. But, the best part about the restaurant is Abdullah.

On most days Abdullah sits in the dining area and answers questions and poses for photos. Think about that! That would be like going to Burger King and seeing the Burger King himself delivering royal proclamations to a tray of onion rings. Or, like going to a Sonic Drive-in and having Sonic The Hedgehog... deliver royal proclamations to a tray of onion rings.

You can view the menu here.

The barbeque selections are smoked on the grounds and include ribs and chicken.

The unique thing is that it is served side by side with Chinese food.

One of the selections is "Abdullah's Favorite" which Dana mentioned. For just $7.49 you get a mix of miniature shrimp, beef strips, green peppers, baby corn, carrots and mushrooms sautéed in a sweet sauce and served with a side of fried rice.

Oh, I'm familiar with the warning itself. I lived out on the Outer Banks of NC for 32 years and have seen many a waterspout/thunderstorm with a similarly worded warning. What is new to me is seeing it depicted on GRLevel3 with it's own color code.

DOH! facepalm.png I should have realized that Solak.... My bad :( I don't use any of the GR stuff, so I can't comment on that...

I run 5.5 miles this past Saturday morning when it was 26. :) Love cold running!!

HA! Maybe I need to talk with you on getting past the lungs feeling like they're going to freeze up part of cold running... I guess I still have a lot of Florida left in me... :lmao:

You want cold? You want snow? You want blizzard conditions? I know a guy that lives up in this area and he passes along his weather... just incredible stuff.

Dacula, Major blowout last night? I noticed Mr Rooter plumbing in front of your house on your web cam. haha

LOL!!! Yes, have to get the tank pumped out. Waited WAAAAAY too long so now it's WAAAAY too much money. Plus the hot water heater apparently has an element out so they're doing two jobs here today!

That sucks, just curious what kind of setup do you have for your webcam? How hard is the setup to be able to put that in your signature on here? Is it an HD cam? I have been thinking about adding a webcam to my weather station setup and I am curious to know more. Hope it doesn't cost you too much money!

It's a Sharx webcam and highly recommended. The camera has it's own built-in webserver. I use DDNS for a dns name and that's it! It has tons of features, more than I could talk about here but this is their site http://www.sharxsecurity.com/ At some point I'm going to get another one for outdoors that has IR. Mine is indoor only (although I've left it out overnight before!). It is either wired or wireless, I'm running mine wireless.

The image you see in my sig is a snapshot at any given moment. So each time the page loads here, it retrieves a small jpg for display. Very simple.

Other than the cost of the camera, it basically cost me nothing.

OK, first I want to thank everyone who took a moment and voiced a preference for how they prefer the thread formats during active periods, I read them all twice for good measure... :weight_lift:

The general consensus appears to be a separate thread for macro-analysis (i.e. analyzing the system as a whole, models, forecasts, disco, etc) and a thread for obs/real-time imby reports. During high-traffic we will try to make it a point to pin both so that users coming in can easilly navigate to the correct thread, hopefully that will cut down on people posting obs in the disco thread, etc. I ask that whoever starts storm specific threads please be somewhat explicit in the description, same goes with obs... That may help to cut down on people posting about the same things in two threads, which no one wants based on the responses I read.

we did that a couple of times last year and it seemed to work really well - we can get all the imby and obs in to check, and then read through the model analysis, forecasts etc to get a grasp on the current situation (since as we know the se is infamous for last minute flops lol)

Just picked up my subscription to SV. I'm locked and loaded for PBP. Hopefully my week off for Christmas will be as much fun as last year. devilsmiley.gif

I hate to say this but....

I get this next week off, two weeks at Christmas, a week at spring break and most of July. I should probably leave now... scooter.gifsmile.gif

But the three days I get off this week will be negated by grad school work.. Paper style :(....

Anyone know any great camping sites in the North Georgia mountains? Maybe even into southern North Carolina and Tennessee depending on how far North we would like to travel. Looking to go with friends over New Years. Thanks in advance.

Try camping on top of Max Patch. I believe it's at Exit 7 off I-40 right on the TN/NC border. You have to drive about 20 miles on a dirt road off the interstate, but Max Patch is an awesome bald mountain away from all the lights of civilization. The view of the stars would be incredible in the winter months. Plus, you'd have a decent chance of snow in the Smokies near New Years. (I'm not sure if camping is technically legal up there, but it's worth looking into. I have a friend who's camped there, but he was a little unclear on the legality.)

Panthertown Valley near Cashiers, NC is beautiful hike-in camping. Start on the west side not the east for an easier hike.

This area is beautiful and just over the GA border into NC. The top of Standing Indian is 5499 ft. The Appalachian Trail goes by the top of Standing Indian. There are quite a few tall mountains through there.

http://www.recreatio...TabIndex=Search Standing Indian campground is closed till april but there are plenty of places to camp in that area.
