Cold Rain
I understand your frustration Haha! That makes me think of one of the new Beavis and Butthead episodes, where they try to do phone tech support. Beavis answers a call from a someone who is complaining about being on hold for 20 minutes and he says, "I understand your frustration." I think we might be saying that a lot this Winter! WxKnurd
At one time I was looking forward to that game. Unfortunately, we don't win those kinds of games. So I'll go ahead and offer a preliminary congratulations. Gotta have faith! I'll be in ATL with bells on for that game as well as this upcoming bowl game. Went to Orlando last year and watched us dismantle WVU, this year it's time to introduce the wife to Wolfpack football (though she already knows that they will give you a heart attack in all sports...I tend to yell at the tv alot...) So I'll go ahead and offer a preliminary congratulations. I think you all are going to win big. The Vols just posted back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since 1910-1911. Posted a record low 1-7 in league play. UK was playing w/ a WR at QB today - had never played the position in college before. It will be a good game, but the Wolfpack are just a better team at the moment.

We always have multiple key players injured, and it's not uncommon for those injuries to take place in pre-game warm-ups.

We always have multiple key players injured, and it's not uncommon for those injuries to take place in pre-game warm-ups. Hey, our third string kicker was hurt during warm-ups against MTSU. They had to go find our walk-on back-up at a frat house and get a police escort to the game for him. Kid kicked four extra points, a field goal, and kicked-off. Never had seen the field before that game. He was laying on the couch watching football fifty minutes before kick-off. Great story during an awful football season. #NoPoles
Useless post/thread or not, name calling is uncalled for by anyone and has no place here or in society. Why is there sooooo much fear about discussion of a subject, whether you believe in it or not? Last I checked, weather forecasting was not an exact science. Without discussion, it will become stagnant and will not advance. You get alot of leeway without being a Met. Me on the other hand, probably never. Even Lookout alluded to the disparity of what should be posted by most of us weenies. IMHO, there is just WAY too much "This is my ball and you can't play with it, so leave" attitude from Mets or weenies. I want to learn so that I can engage in the discussions, no matter how trivial others may think it is. ATM, I really have no desire to get ridiculed, belittled, or personally attacked by trying to join in on any of the discussions. Oh well, back to my hole I go. Sorry for the rant. hmmm...interesting...guess it's the same in all the busy subforums...i was a newb, once...it's called trial by fire..you just keep posting...give a little sass back when needed (in an appropriate manner) and eventually your subforum old timers get used to seeing your screen name and eventually you get assimilated into the crew... oh heck, i got lit up a few times during the tropical season this year...it was LOL-tastic! You were there last year, and I think the year before. Shoot, you are only once removed from the SnoJoe Arctic MegasnowVortex, where all the snow in the world passes once a year And remember we are in the new paradigm, where new amazing climo for the next 100 years is being written as we watch! If this is an epic screwjob for the areas that are looking at some light snow then my last comment will go down in history as the one that killed the storm. That would hurt, really, really bad. ATM, I really have no desire to get ridiculed, belittled, or personally attacked by trying to join in on any of the discussions. Oh well, back to my hole I go. Sorry for the rant. Somehow I missed this post, I'm not defending name calling really but it's going to happen over the internet. I think a lot of it had to do with the tone and then you add in the fact that it was a new topic. The whole point of a disco topic is to talk about these very things especially when it's based off of one frame of one model in "fantasy land". Every winter at some point you get multiple threads on the same storm or topic and it gets confusing trying to post in them. That is what Bob was trying to get at and sadly it spiraled a little bit out of control. Personally I agree with Bob on that, which is why I almost never start a thread unless requested to or for say my members map or the thread for n00bs. As for some getting more leeway? Yep, it's going to happen. Do I get more then some? Probably, but it has a lot to do with the fact that I've been here awhile and I have access to the Euro. I also do some things behind the scenes to better help this community as a whole. Is it fair? Maybe not and trust me I would not complain and haven't complained when my posts get/have been deleted. Yep it happens even to me, there were numerous posts deleted last winter or moved to the banter thread. In the end though it's just like the real world, it's politics and it's going to happen. Always has on this board and always will. If you go look on the other regional sub forums though you'll probably see the SE is ran really well considering. Again just to clarify it had little to do with wanting to discuss something or discussing weather. Perhaps if the first post had been, "lets talk about pattern change in this thread. The GFS 18z hints at it in fantasy land" the thread may have gone differently. In the end it's still up and that's a testament to what you're saying about it being OK to make such posts, just a few of us thought it could have been better served in the November thread already created. I don't think you'll be ridiculed or picked on if you make posts or try to learn. As others have stated it's just "trail by fire" and we've all gone through it on the board. DaculaWeather
1.32" so far IMBY here in Dahlonega. It's been mostly steady light rain with just a few short bursts of heavier rates. I've got my VP2 setup to log data every 10 minutes. Heaviest 10min rain periods: .11" - once .06" - once .04" - 3 periods The rest are .03" per 10 minute period or less. I was really hoping for some heavy rain. I keep monthly records http://www.daculaweather.com/monthly_records.php My max was back on the 16th when it rained .165" per minute. My yearly record is .299" per minute back in June. http://www.daculaweather.com/yearly_records.php
DaculaWeather
I was referencing how much actually fell in a 10 minute period, not the highest rain rate. My rain rate has exceed 1" per hour rates briefly but not long enough to drop more than .11" in a 10 minute period. You using Weather-Display or Davis's Weatherlink or whatever it's called?
