SnoSki14
We all better be glad it's still November because I bet a lot of you who are happy with this very mild weather would be pissed if we had the same mild weather a month from now. I can honestly say I would have the same reaction. When the weather is nice like this, you grab an iced coffee with lunch...roll the windows down and blast some music. Todays weather is better than 20 F and sunny with a stiff NW wind any day.

earthlight
Have to hit on this---it's a great sign that all of these mid level vorts have been trending towards much greater amplitude as they approach. Look at the 12z NAM's depiction of the event the end of this week...the trough base digs into the Southeast US. http://www.meteo.psu.edu/~gadomski/WRFEAST_12z/wrfloop.html

Isotherm
best of both worlds, first snow days of model tracking and laughing at noreaster27, and then back to playing golf, enjoying my extended season. I would be fine with a winter where we got two feet every two weeks but it all metled and I could play golf in between with highs in the 70s. Sounds like a Denver style winter, 70 one day, 2 feet of snow the next. That's not winter to me...I'm not sure what is is, old man winter with bipolar or split personality disorder. I'd rather have persistent cold with the snow on the ground.

Isotherm
each to his own I mean if you take a storm like Feb 11 2006 - 15-25" of fluffy, gorgeous snow blanketed the area. Then two days later, you'd never know that a monster storm had just impacted the area. Warm temps immediately after a snowstorm take away from its impacts, no doubt. Contrast to Feb 2003 or the boxing day blizzard; cold temps for awhile after meant roadways were closed for that much longer, excessive snow totals stayed on the ground longer; it was more memorable overall. 1-2 days with snow on the ground is like the blink of an eye and is easily forgotten. When I think back to Feb 2006, I don't say "oh, what a great storm", I say, "damn, what a terrible pattern right after, it's a shame it melted in 2 days." No doubt Feb 06 was a beautiful storm, but the warmth afterwards makes the overall experience less historic feeling (to me at least).

TheTrials
who cares if its warm after the storm, except for 2006 where it was gone in five hours, tracking and watching it snow etc is the best part. In two days its filthy. So give me a nice day of looking at it afterwards and not have it be like Feb 2006 and then i am set.
