weathafella
Nothing but much above normal temps thru the next 2 weeks. No signs anywhere of a pattern change. The concern for Dec continues to grow each day There will be some stabs of cold but yes..,above normal. Get it over with. Huge winter on the way. Mr Torchey
Was just looking at Sugarhouse cam at Okemo, nothing but brown to the summit, obviously they will not be opening on time this year, hopefully we can get a Real Pattern Change in here by the start of December, those peeps need it big time. THis happens every year, delayed but not denied, its coming, until then get outside and enjoy the sizzle..........

Mr Torchey
BOS +2.4 for September +3.6 for October What will November bring???????? what an all out torch its been this fall, thats what makes the "week of freak" in the interior so incredible, an island of ice in a sea of fire. Will be solidly above normal by the end of this week, more torchy times next week after a brief transient cooldown. In fact if you go back all the way to March, its been pretty much above normal, every month at almost every SNE station, this pattern has been locked in, and its stable. snowNH
I'm starting to wonder if it will be hotter here than in San Diego on Dec 18 when I leave.. Snow-tober withdrawals creeping in again

CoastalWx
We go through this every year. Things take time to change. Maybe it doesn't stick around for December, but people always freak out when they don't see an immediate change, however these things always take longer than expected. Pattern goes back much further than that. Since December 2009, BDL and BOS have had only 4 months below normal. ORH has had 5, and PVD 6. Warm months are outnumbering cool months at a 4:1 clip over the last couple of years.

Maybe if it does start later, for once we'll have a big Feb and March It only takes one month to have a great winter. RE: LAST YEAR.. Ginx snewx
LOL to the Emoticon love it. Must be Novie, ship jumpers galore. Patience grasshoppers patience. Really does show how historic that storm was though. Thoughts of snowstorms usually do not start until after the Turkey is basting in the oven. snowNH
Cue Al Gore Anyways, one thing to look forward to this week at least is the possibility of the sun shooting an X Flare at the earth.. NOAA gives it a 10% chance over the next 24 hours and the sunspot is directed right at earth

Ginx snewx
hippies humping trees. LOL, Malloy said screw them the other day he is going to clear cut 50 feet either side of poles. Big bucks to be made if anyone is in the tree business. I am enjoying this weather, save on the early heat bill, get stuff done. Winter can come on schedule. You guys are way to easy.......lol, I really don't care about snow last month this month or even the 1st part of December, It has no recreational value up here as the ground is not even close to frozen where we can retain it, And thats what i use it for, Until we get cold in here and the lakes and ponds are frozen you can't travel any great distances by snowmobile, I will take some warm daytime temps, I am way behind on getting fall stuff done so i welcome this weeks weather... Its a tough call... I'm loving the sunshine this time of year. However the ski areas are screwed for all the November 19th planned openings (Stowe, Sugarbush, Jay Peak, Okemo, list goes on). The next 12 days do not look favorable in any way... and even the cold nights this time of year below 2,000ft are inversion torches at the summit (ie 17F in the village the other night and 35F at the peak). We need good cold from the top-down starting with H85 and that isn't happening.

It hurts areas like yours and up here like SR, The loaf and Saddleback, Gains you make at night are lost during the day so from a skiers stand point it sucks

Although snow preservation is amazing on the East Slope of the Berkshires we do not have the same luxury up here Not with 50-60F daytime temps forecast. Yeah I agree. Snow and cold this time of year do nothing down here, but we are getting to the point where we want to see some changes take place. I think we are seeing signs of change, but it will take a while. Until then, it's more weenie toaster tub posts.

We're going to the promised land this winter. Lots of big storms and not ending 2/10! I've NEVER seen a winter get cold early and stay. Maybe 76-77 but snow was not as robust. 93-94 was warm till Christmas. 95-96 went back and forth all winter but didn't deliver decent cold/snow until the week after Thanksgiving followed by the pattern warming until around 12/9. 2004-05 went back and forth until the pattern set in mid January. Last year didn't get serious until the 2nd week in December. I remember my bday having showers with temps around 60 last year.
