Just got another call from the town...Still 25 power lines and or poles down in town with many wires still on sides of roads...He said based on that and the slow restoration..he is cancelling school on Monday.

There is an elderly housing complex in Tolland that has no power and no generator..Just awful

No way in hell power is restored to everyone by tomorrow night. West Hartford too cancelled school for Monday...at least.

West Hartford won't be going back to school until the end of the week at the earliest. 56% of WH still w/o power.

I posted the other day..but many cars in my hood were burgalarized..Cleaning the lawn today i found a Garmin recharging cord thrown in the yard.

Seems like it's happening all over town in neighborhoods without power

You have any protection Kev? A nice Beretta 92FS would be a strong deterrent....

Even if the timing was off by a few hours, that shouldn't affect them days after the storm. In any event, the timing was moved up the night before the storm, they should be preparing in a "window" of time...but the timing aspect really affects plowing more than it does restoring power after the event is over.

Wow, that's cold for you but not frosty yet. Starting to catch some ice on the smaller ponds. The snow really helped.

Any snow left where you are? Not really anything here save for some patches in shady areas and the piles from the plows. 25.9º here now. I think there will be some teens around here tonight. I had 19.0º on Monday morning, I may beat it.

I was up at my aunt and uncles in Princeton for a family gathering this evening...one, it was freezing by the time Ieft (around 930)...must have been in the mid 20s....two, they had almost full snow pack in their yard, at least 75-80% coverage. Its got a ton of tall pines around it to shelter it from sun...but it was impressive. Here, we only have patches in the shade and the piles left, but they had almost full snow cover in their yard. It wasn't like that everywhere up there, but the area in general had probably 40-50% coverage, even in open areas.

Cold place that is up there.

Wow that is petty. The fact that NU even comments is a sign that they are desperate to save face. Sorry, guys you're toast. No one cares what excuses you have.

I actually think a week for mostly everyone in NH to get back is not bad at al.

NU isn't toast at all lol... Its not like someone can just take over and they can take just pick up their lines and move.

NU has restored damage to multiple transmission lines and 650,000 customers in 1 week. There is nothing wrong with that. Parts of MA and NH were out 3 weeks during the icestorm.

You are way off base. CLP has been so much slower. Most people in the ice storm had their power back inside of a week...very few were beyond 10 days. In this storm, Massachusetts had over 670,000 customers without power at one point. Almost everyone has it back now (think they are under 40,000 now) and most within 2-3 days.

There's been a huge difference.

What action can be taken against them? I remember National Grid getting fined a couple mill back a couple winters ago.
