Yeah, for those who know Andy's past, you will understand what SmokeEater is saying. Anyways, definitely couldn't believe that Cantore responded that way.

A lot of these media guys are really nearsighted adrenaline junkies living it through the screen.. It's a strange profession where some giant d-bags are elevated. Of course it's all for public warning etc so he HAD to ditch his vehicle and keep on rolling. I doubt the helicopters and hundred other chasers could have covered it. Still not sure how they'd regulate chasing but flaunting breaking the law etc will eventually cause some sort of trouble. Sad part is the 'quieter' chasers often get more compelling (or beautiful) imagery.

And better video where you don't have to hear them screaming "BACK UP! BACK THE F*** UP!" half the time...

Meh.. he probably just screwed up reversing on a muddy road. He didn't reverse to get away from the tornado, the editing on TWC is clearly cut to make it look like it happened as the tornado was crossing over in front of him. Maybe he caught a rut or slid on the muddy surface. It's likely just a case of bad driving or a momentary lapse of concentration rather than the tornado doing anything and he'll pay for that mistake with an expensive bill to repair the car. If I was in that position and someone stopped by and offered me the chance to continue the chase, hell yes! The car will still be there in the evening to collect with a tow truck and hopefully, the storms are passed at that point so some poor tow truck driver doesn't have to play dodge the supercell to get out to your vehicle! Looks like he got away with very little damage to the car anyway. A wing mirror gone, 1 side window and some new airbags required are probably the only required fixes to get it road legal again. Not sure how much repair his hail guard and antennae will require though but I think he got away lightly for a rollover!

Except if you watched his video live, it did happen as the tornado was crossing in front of him, and he even said he was backing away from the tornado.

Mini rant, the KFOR chase car reporter is killing me with assigning an EF rating to every tornado that spins up. This is forcing him to explain why a half mile wide multi-vortex tornado is not EF5 wind speed. How about we just say large, and extremely dangerous tornado on the ground northwest of Fort Cobb?

He does this all the time, he's the worst.

Me to, and I was practically yelling at the TV screen when I was watching the live feed on TWC.

Mesocyclone several miles southeast of Dallas at this time. Storm itself is not very powerful,

but we'll see if it does anything.

Not quite sure about why the Watch went up for DFW area. The storms never looked strong

and only had marginal rotation in them. My guess is that the NWS at Fort Worth perhaps

lobbied for it during a Conference call.

This day will go down as a milestone in my chasing carrier. So far, I've found six tornadoes in my video and the funny thing is that most of them are pretty potent. While storms were moving today, my supercell really never took off. The road network was excellent for the first half of the event, so I was able to get up right behind several tornadoes. This day is the highlight of my chasing carrier thus far. Anyway, here's my video. I've got it down to about seven minutes with multiple tornadoes. Enjoy!

Very nice! Congrats man! Sure wish I could have been down there today, but it was fun tracking it from afar too lol.

No wonder he lost control, look how fast he was backing up. His column didn't lock up, he was backing up too fast on a muddy road. And why, I don't know, the tornado was nowhere near him at that point, was moving away.

Exactly what I thought when i first saw the video.

Bottom line is you are too close and are no good to calling in reports, info etc when you end up in the ditch flipped over cause you got yourself in a bad situation.

Fantastic video... you simply nailed that storm. Excellent video quality, stability, and footage.

I had quite a day... got a late start because I'm still pretty sick and have gotten about 6 hours of sleep since Friday, and so I was considering staying home (lol). As a result, I missed Tipton, but I have no complaints since it inadvertently led to my having a front-row seat for Snyder. Hands down, the most photogenic tornado of my career, and it was a strong one at that. Then the Wichita Mountains madness, which was an incredible experience but more suited to videography than photography, at least from the backlit vantage we all had on the main road through the Refuge. Finally, caught the up-and-down multi-vortex at Ft. Cobb around sunset to cap off the day.

All-in-all, this could arguably be the best single OK tornadic supercell for chasers since 1999-05-03 (I'm sure there are a couple others that could be debated). It's also the first time SW OK has ever put on a good show in the modern chasing era, hard as that may be to believe. Pretty funny how if you discount fall events (today and 2001-10-09), western OK as a whole hasn't done a whole lot since at least the 90s.

A couple grabs from Snyder, then the western WMWR wedge, then Ft. Cobb.
