SnowGoose69
NYC saw around 2.4 inches. The problem is while the 6 hourly official measurement thing is effective in ensuring accurate amounts in most events, I do not find in events with marginal temps it gives you a reasonable estimate. BxEngine
Incredible....as of now my low temp for the day (32 on the nose) was at 2:26 pm. The difference in elevation was huge here, and only minor elevation changes (125-500 feet) went from 4 or so inches up to atleast 8 or 9, though compaction and melting made it impossible to measure. It looks like an ice storm hit here....trees and wires are everywhere. At least 35,000 without power in Rockland as of now.

Correct, I have been measuring every half hour that it has been snowing.

WeatherFox
1.5" at LGA as of 8pm 1.2" at JFK NYC did not report. We should all end around 2". Maybe 3". Too bad it is melting so fast in our parts of the world with surface temps a little above 32F.

Poor snow growth also. In the morning, I was 34-36 and snowing heavily and we accumulated 1.5" on everything very quickly.
jm1220
Snowing decently here but not enough to really stick on most surfaces. Our hope lies with the band over E NJ/NYC now. Ahh well, maybe 2-6" was too much to hope for before Halloween. Was(is) a great show!! Also, winds are barely above 10 mph. If any part of this noreaster has been a bust thus far, it's definitely been the wind.
Absolute Humidity
Wow, this last band here is really ripping, just pulled a 4" thick branch off the street and just measured 3.1" thats .9 in the last 40 mins. Never thought Freehold would see 3" totals out this. Very very cool.

simpsonsbuff
NW Bronx... About 5 or 6 inches on the grass... And that's quite water logged... A snowboard might find more... Be interesting to see what Yonkers comes in with considering we're almost always the same...
ag3
1319942523[/url]' post='1082697']Yes and that melted too . Cars, grass, trees and some pavements are still snow covered here in Astoria. We got more snow here then in your part of Queens (my old hometown of Whitestone).

ict1523
Grass, cars, and some pavements covered here as well. Was still snowing at a decent clip last time I checked. Still can't believe we had such a cold, raw, snowy day in October.

ArtRosen
Wow. What an event. And still snowing. Can someone wake up the guy with the ruler at Central Park and get him to measure already? The last reading was almost 12 hours ago!
Sundog
I'm very jealous, but I'm happy for you. The potential was for more for both of us. I live in Whitestone and I didn't even see a coating. Nothing. Drove west past 154th street and all of a sudden there was snow on cars, grass and roofs. Then took a ride to Astoria and there was snow right on the street and sidewalks. The sheltered undisturbed areas despite beibg concrete/asphalt had more than an inch as of 1PM, but then it shut off pretty much after that. I was at work in Bayside and all surfaces except for a few cars were wet. Got on the Clearview and all of a sudden everything except the main roadway was covered. It actually looked like over an inch around the Clearview & Grand Central Pkwy area and surfaces by my house were covered. This was this evening around 9PM.
