weatherwiz
Finally able to grab some internet access. I'm at the public library in the center...only allowed 30 minutes of internet time. My mom said we never lost power at our house, however, we are without internet/cable/phone and I think I'll be without it for a while. There are wires down all over my street and the cable box that hooks up to the house has been ripped off. I can't believe I didn't lose power at all. Was driving around with my friend the other night looking at the damage...INCREDIBLE. Just speechless. This one street I was on around Asylum Street you can't drive past a house without a tree, multiple trees, or multiple limbs down. Entire sections without power which go on for miles it seems. Street impassible still.
ski MRG
There is nothing better than watching it snow outside a big picture window while a fire crackles and pops in your living room...it's as aesthetically pleasing as it gets. Add a ski bunny and you hit Nirvana.lol Ut oh PC police gotta go.
weatherwiz
A friend of mine who lives in NH will be posting from my account to upload pics/video at some point. I only have 9 minutes of online time left here at the library. What an insane rush to get internet. Gas stations around here are out of gas too...it's nuts. weatherwiz
man that sucks. a lot. while the weenie side of me would have loved to see this event unfold first hand (the hvy hvy snow)...i am really glad to not be experiencing the aftermath. The aftermath definitely blows. I really feel bad for the people who will be without power for days and even weeks. Everyone is gonig to suffer...business especially. For one my work is closed and I'm losing 6 hours of work today. i also can't post for my craigslist job so I'm gonig to be hit for money for a while. Gas stations have lines that go out of the parking lot, a friend of mine almost even seen a fight break out. There is just so much damage everywhere before they can even really restore many power lines all the damage has to be cleaned. Just no words for the scene. Still lots of trees and wires in roads that havent been picked up yet. Took me 20 minutes to gas up the car yesterday at least.

CoastalWx
I'm with Phil. The carnage would be cool to see first hand, but no thanks to be put back in the civil war era over a foot of snow.

CoastalWx
True. Did Will lose power He got the best of both worlds. He got power back yesterday, but had almost 17" of snow to show for it, and saw some carnage.
CoastalWx
The difference heading away from the shore yesterday was pretty remarkable. MQE snowcapped and the towns to the sw from Canton on down to Walpole had full snowcover.

I would kill to do it all again and go to Will's, but I never thought that I'd get screwed that badly.....the only other time that has happened to me since Dec 1996 was that one storm in 2010, but by that point I had checked out. So many things conspired to screw me.....cf exhaust subsidence AND marginal BL (not often you see that), poor snowgrowth, and main deformation located to the n and w. $hit storm...oh well. CoastalWx
Not to this degree...won't happen, sorry. You'll get a Dec '96 eventually. I don't count this as necessarily getting it out of the way. I think Will would agree too. Is it rare, yes it is rare, but it will happen again. Luckily for you, it does not happen too often. It was also an elevation storm, so that accounts for some of the difference.
