Ginx snewx
Pete--as I look out the window now, I think I am experiencing the emotion Wiz has when he writes "THUNDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (no I'm not having thunder snow), but it is coming down at a sick, sick rate. I don't know how long this will keep up (and frankly, I might not make it past my next measurement), butI thinkg 2' is a gimme out htere. I might have jinxed myself just not by saying that, but this is unreal at the moment. Michael you are one lucky mofo Congrats bro, enjoy the Pit with a glass of the finest. ski MRG
Just unreal man, cry bro, it's good for the soul. Your worship of your God paid off more than you could ever imagine. Life changing storm for you, will take a lot to beat this one for its historic nature. Then my wife would think I totally lost it. She just told me I was crazy because I was getting all my gear together by the back door as I plan to head out for some more turns after she goes to bed. moneypitmike
My new point and click has an overnight accumulation of 10-14". The WSW is for 12-16". I might end up pulling a 24-27" deal. Looks like the band is trying to make its way through Hartford, Hampden and Eastern Hampshire counties. Its a wonderful thing folks when it gets there! Logan11
So basically Boxing Day all over again for the deformation zone and heaviest snow. The odds of getting two events like that inside one calendar year have to be up there with getting a NE hurricane strike. The heaviest snow max basically follows the Appalachian Trail from MA to NY to NJ..... I clawed my way to 3.5 inches now. Continuation of light to moderate snow and 29. Yeah, this really is a special monster. Just heavy heavy duty snow. Really, I've only seen this sustained intensity in AK and BC. Hour after hour of pounding snow. We've had other 24" storms a plenty but this has been an 8 hour onslaught. Snowmachines moving past down on the main road are totally muffled. 24+" now likely as I see it. dendrite
If we stay in this band for another 6 hours that will mean 15-18. Really snowing hard now. Have 9-10 on the grassy areas but I think that is because the snow is on top of blades. 8 inches on the hard surfaces and snowing as hard as it has snowed yet. We're getting mini-MRG'd right now. Yes, very much like Boxing Day, but the best deform band is probably a tad east of that. That storm was best along NY 22, this one probably about 15-20 miles E. Hopefully you'll win out next time. I feel your pain. Been there done that...
