The Jetta pulled in at 3:30 and was clean.lol How close are you to Peru? 11.5" here Smaller drier flakes Peru is 11 minutes away. The historical scale of this blows my mind. That looks like mid-January pow. Just took the first turns of the year in 20+" of champagne Powder. 20" now here in Lenox. Snow growth is absolutely phenomenal. Large dendrite aggregates pouring out of the sky. That band seems to pivoting on top of me. We may rip for another few hours. Wow! Over 20" here now to Mitch and it is fookin' dumping. I mean XXX snow.

40/70 Benchmark
Seriously? No damage here yet.... I seemed to be about 45 minutes behind you when it started to when it got heavier. How much you have I'm at 9 now. That band just keeps sitting over my house. 3" if lucky...growth blows. Congrats on 18"
CoastalWx
At work now, and co-worker coming up from RI said it was snow in PVD, then actually rain in Foxboro until you got to 128 where it turned to snow. That tells me longitude if a huge part of this. Makes sense as the low curls up towards the Cape instead of pulling east. Everything is sort of stuck right now, in terms of the ra/sn line. I think we did mention this happening.

JYarsh
Just lost power on campus--- backup generators in full force. I haven't been around, but I have a sense that the damage here in the pioneer valley is going to be pretty extensive, and possibly more significant than in places further west that end up with twice the snow because the snow we have been getting is just so wet. Several large branches are down already....I imagine some trees will follow suit soon. Up to about 7" here. Pretty impressive for my elevation (275')... weathafella
Snow falling now seems a bit drier. Temps Ranging 30-31 on all local wxbugs. Meanwhile, if you have the wxbug app to loop the temperature trends graphically it's pretty cool and clearly shows the cf. Appears to be sitting on or just west of the SE Expressway. adamrivers
Also should add experienced first thunder lightning earlier, had heard thunder before but never seen lightning.....was pretty cool. We have lost a ton of branches....some pretty big ones too. Still have power, over 67K out right now for WMECO customers, lot of flickering but we've somehow held on. Haven't left the house since 5:30 so not sure what's happening outside of my street or two radius....but was outside for awhile, dead quiet and nothing but branches breaking/falling....it was unreal. Still some falling last time I went out to do the measurement. Snow has definitely changed over to the fluffy light stuff.....most of the beginning was heavy and wet and compacted pretty quickly.
