From Craig Allen's Facebook page:

On WCBS/880 til 12 then Todd Glickman thru the afternoon. This event is well underway. Temperature is already 2 to 4° lower than expected at this hour of the morning. Storm may push up warmer air briefly for coast otherwise this will be put in the history books even for the City and western L.I. Some northwest/high elevations could now see more than a foot. High Wind Warning for the coast. Everyone should check battery supply and fill generators for possible power outages during height of the storm late day into first part of tonight.

I went into the shower around 10:40 am and it was 35F and some flakes were just starting to mix in and 40 minutes later, it's 32F and snowing like crazy - huge flakes coming down in buckets. Woohoo!!! Hope this means it will be snow the whole time, although I imagine if the precip lets up we may change back to rain - also wondering if we'll get more warm air coming in off the ocean as the storm gets closer.
