dbc
18z Nam has the banding. I have a party to go to tonight As did I. Bar Mitzvah for my cousin in Newark. Not sure we're going to make it there tonight. We went to the services this morning in the higher elevations of Montville and the roads from there to my doorstep were atrocious. Power Lines/trees down everywhere.
KEITH L.I
i think that coastal front is right on top of me...all day long...temp is creeping up 34.5...sleeting...come on, this is painful...how long till temps crash? That fact that the Island is seeing any frozen precip today is a miracle..water temps near 60..lol..we need north winds..when that happens we will see our snow tonight..any marine layer winds will not get it done in October

I think that the sleet will help for the snow to stick better to the roadways.

dbc
upton should downgrade NYC back to a WWA for 2-4 inches, maybe keep the bronx in the warning. This nonsense needs to stop. Winter has not yet begun and already you are at it. Why should they downgrade? I'm 2 miles due west of NYC in New Jersey and we will verify Warning criiteria easily. NorthShoreWx
Why do I have a feeling that Central NJ - NNJ, the Bronx, Southern NY is going to get destroyed... Ever since 2006 - these bands love developing over you guys!! Why do I have the feeling we are going to totally forget about this afternoon's weather along the north shore in a few hours. Deformation setup is a bit of a crapshoot, but we could get under a little more of it than merely catching it as it quickly pivots through (like happened in the 2/2006 meh blizzard). A fair amount of the modeling hints at this. rain/sleet and 39F here now. It was down to 37 earlier.
dbc
does he do that every year? Yes. I usually ignore it but in this instance I had to respond.Anyway to stay on topic, currently we do have a lighter intensity right now. Brightened up a lot the last 30 minutes too.
