stockmanjr
Just turned on the Columbia game and the field is turning into a disaster very quickly covered in snow! Is NWS going to put any kind of update either switching to a warning or even just a special weather statement??
Stormlover74
Mike Seidel is up in West Milford, I'd say I have more snow than them.
Cfa
It's just torrentially pouring out here (Central Suffolk Co.), not that windy yet though. Dropped to 37°F. Normally I'd be happy but I feel left out, I hope it switches over to snow soon.
Saturn510
This has got to go down as one of the worst forecasted events in history for NYC. All the local TV Mets were slaying a slushy coating to an inch. Now they're saying we might get 6"!!!!! That's incredible! The models (EURO) were right! Correct me if i am wrong. I think the Euro had pretty much the same solution since Monday
Euripides
Heavy snow in Douglaston Queens. Sticking to grass, dirt and cars now. Going to look odd out there later as the tress with leaves are shielding the ground beneath them from snow.
weathermedic
NYC Sanitation is not at all prepared for this, with daytime temperatures already hovering around freezing and the worst is yet to come... are there any salters even out there? As per NYC Mayor's office on Twitter: 800 add'l workers were called in (didn't say at what time or if it was pre-scheduled) for the storm

wolfsheepsheadbay
Back to a rain snow mix in Lower Manhattan. Amazingly, I can look up at the bldg across the street (over 100 feet tall) and see that it is snowing up there against the darker background. bmc10
Mike Seidel is up in West Milford, I'd say I have more snow than them. It just started snowing there not to long ago. Once the storm begins to pivot and wrap, the best dynamics and forcing should allow for heavy banding. Whoever gets under those bands will do some quick accumulating. Nikolai
I have been sticking with 4" for NYC since several days ago... I will now adjust to 6" with potential for 10" if everything goes perfect... it's looking like the best bands will set up right over/near the city and we have changed over so early, this is just incredible... it may actually end up being high-impact on roads too as we are already accumulating on other surfaces... i'd anticipate things get very messy for all drivers by 4-5PM with the very low sun angle
Isotherm
Snowing sideways w/ winds howling here in Villanova, approaching freezing.
