Seems like altitude is making all the difference right now, just as many of the experts on here stated for the last few days. Kudos. (Edit: Just basing this off people's observations and locations here in the thread, really. Not meant as a definitive statement.)

I'd say you're mostly right, but BWI, Columbia and downtown Baltimore are all reporting some snow mixed in.

But as far as accumulating snow yes I'd completely agree with you there.

...Power is usually good here (Allegheny >> Pepco) but I'm worried only cause I have a full slate of college football to watch today and I know how Murphy works. (Go Hokies!)

I was thinking the same thing -- even with just a thick dusting, some branches are already starting to droop. We've had good luck with Allegheny ever since we moved from one end of Germantown to the other and crossed the border out of Pepco territory. No problems in ice storms, Isabelle, or the psuhoffman wet snowstorm. (Go Noles!)

MD highway webcam link: http://www.chart.sta...l&gZoomLvl=null

Confirms snow in the Germantown, Mt Airy, Reisterstown, Frederick areas, etc...

Interestingly, looks like it's not been snowing out at Hagerstown!

I'm about 7 miles SW of Hagerstown. Moderate snow and 32.2 degrees. Grass, trees and cars are covered. Pavement just a bit slushy.

Looks like my mental alarm clock worked perfectly.

I thought you were Costanza and not Kramer. :P

Anyway, snow really picking up here. Heavy. Just knocked snow off of the small trees and shrubs. Very heavy (weight) to the snow. If only the temp would drop about 2-3 degrees, we could save a lot of trouble.

I was noticing how the branches already look weighted as well. I have allegheny as well and we rarely loose power. The last serious outage we had was during Isabel.

places up north of the Baltimore metro area have no snow on the ground

you are going to need heavy rates as well as elevation for this one

You mean folks in PA? Webcams show a dusting on the ground in places like Rocks State Park, Cockeysville and Reisterstown.

Yeah it hasn't been snowing here in Hagerstown until recently. It just started.
