360' is my elevation per google and the earth tools thing...

There was more in ballenger when I drove over there earlier...not sure what the deal is. Usually we have a tick more than ballenger (splitting hairs, though).

A friend of mine from Clarksburg posted on Facebook and they look more like those Harpers Ferry pics! We are valley here and got much less for sure. It's like I always say in summer...there is a reason Frederick is so hot in summer. We are on a valley floor and sit at the base of mountains. Those 105 degree readings are real!

As mentioned...I treked up to about 1100' and there was an easy 6" on the ground at 2pm and it was rippin.

Like I said, this is almost exactly like the Dec 5 2009 storm for us.

why be disappointed? we got a real life snowstorm in October in the mid-Atlantic. I'm thrilled with 4" in my yard. it has been awesome tracking it all week and then seeing it happen. we easily could have been fringed back here on I-81 but instead we got to enjoy a beautiful snowfall.

I don't understand any complaining from anyone who saw snow today.

true, however, i watched it snow fairly good for a couple of hours and watched the accumulation lessen. the disappointment comes from the temps here quickly jumping to 38. frankly, i'd been thrilled with 4 inches. 2 inches is better than no inches I suppose.

Huge flakes seem to be slowing down in downtown Rockville. Grass and cars are white, but not as much in the grass. Streets and sidewalks just wet, not slushy. STill, it wa scool watching it snow for a while like that in October, hope it portends well for the rest of the snow season :weenie:

31.9 degrees here
