psuhoffman
the blue ridge to catoctins getting rocked right now its snowing much harder here the last hour then radar would indicate. We had a lull for about 30 minutes and they plowed the roads and now there is another inch at least covering the street. NOt sure if its upslope enhanced or just radar not picking up the intensity. usedtobe
I just talked to my sister in WV near Capon Springs, she has 8 on the ground and no power with lots of tree limbs down and the road to her house blocked by a tree.

mappy
Amazing how quick it went from gloppy flakes to fine, relatively dry/small flakes. Decent light snow now. Same thing here in Cockeysville. Was big wet flakes, now fine dry ones

Dalfy
NAM was overdone and too cold.....It played out like we thought last night....I think consensus forecasts will end up verifying outside of a few local areas like FDK that just got screwed... Well If im not mistaken we changed over at around 13-14z today which is earlier than the gfs anticipated. Nam was not that off

WVclimo
I just talked to my sister in WV near Capon Springs, she has 8 on the ground and no power with lots of tree limbs down and the road to her house blocked by a tree. My daughter was supposed to be spending the day in Capon Springs for an outdoor Girl Scout event. The troop leader sent out an email announcing the cancellation yesterday afternoon as a result of a forecasted 5-8". Credit to NWS for going all in on such an anomalous event and verifying. BethesdaWX
Congrats to whoever gets into that deform band, G-town likely won't make it but on October 29th I'd pay to just see flakes in the air. In my heart this is an overperformer even if we don't pass 1/2", anyone expecting significant accums has too much expectation out of this climate.
