The revenge of march 2009?

I don't know, I was in Florida during that storm. How much accumulation did you get?

I had almost 10" from that storm. It brought the total accumulated snowfall from December 6th, 2005 thru March 2, 2009 all the way up to 10". From March 1, 2009 thru Feb. 29, 2010, I got almost 50"... feast or famine, but the periods of famine are much longer than feast.

Measurement at 6" on the nose. Feel its accurate, wood surface, probably stuck there first.

Surprised it has snowed this long. Back edge is having a difficult time getting here. Perhaps some re-generation.

Outside, it sounds like Armageddon. Breaking, crashing tree limbs about every couple of minutes. Gonna be a long cleanup day, whenever this melts. I figure by Monday, it will all be gone.

Just got back from running errands and took a drive out to route 7 up and over the blue ridge to the shenandoah river and then back around. Just about a mile from my house the snow accumulations were greatly noticed compared to here when we left. Up on top of Beacon Hill about 1.5 miles west of Leesburg, considerable more snow. Tree was down in Rt 7 from the snow right past the RT 9 exit. Once we hit round hill it was all snow and wow talk about a world of difference at 1200 ft. This pic is my fav of Rt 601 and Rt 7 at the top there. It was fog so poor vis, moderate steady snow and 3-4 inches up there probably, Left my ruler at home :axe:

first one is VDOT plowing up Rt 7

This storm should put to bed all the arguments about sticking on streets and stuff. Time of year, ground temps, yesterday's weather, etc don't really matter.

We said the same thing after the Jan 26-27 storm... no matter what there will always be a few idiots out there who still believe this and will bring it up before every storm.

It was such a dumb argument to begin with. I don't know why weenies go that route time and time again only to be proven wrong.

I guess I'm half guilty on that one. I really didn't think it would stick to the hard surfaces. To my amazement, it started sticking there within the first half inch.

It starts to really become an issue in the final days of February and in March......sun angle now is similar to mid FEB so no real issues if precip is heavy enough.....March/April are different stories...even the last week of Feb the sun is becoming rapidly powerful....2/26/03 definitely had problems before the sun went down
