PhineasC
Look at radar back in VA. Clearly some nice backbuilding going on. Need to stop looking at just one source of data. Sweet, more rain.

Oh yeah no doubt I definitely agree. I guess I was not being completely clear. The precip is more spotty behind the little punch than the nice band heavy rain and mixed sleet I have right now. Deck Pic
Sweet, more rain. you might actually get in a period of decent snow later though not assured...I guess this is your 1st snowstorm?
Solo2
Unfortunately...the snow has just been too light to really amount to much here. Still pretty to look at it... Trying to keep things in perspective...it is October after all.

Chase
Should be noted it's still snowing at SHD, though the radar has shown no precipitation there for over an hour. The radar hole out here is awful.

clskinsfan
I am hearing from some people without power out here. Gonna be a cold night. Have had to go out and knock the snow off of my Crepe Myrtle a couple of times. It was bent to the ground.

WinterWxLuvr
For those who know dimensioned lumber, that rail is 5 inches (3.5 for the 2by and 1.5 for the top rail). Draw your own assumptions. Deck Pic
I have tracked this storm and not complained or whined at all. Stop skewing things into something they aren't. 95% of this board cares 2X more about what will fall in their yard than in another. So naturally, I will wonder more about what each run shows for my area, I have tracked this storm and not complained or whined at all. Stop being a bad poster wasting my time with stupid stuff and focus on the storm. Ignoring you from now on there are people in our area who have gotten 8"+ from a storm on Oct 29th.....if you never post again, I will rejoice

clskinsfan
WinterWxLuvr. Isnt it amazing how a couple of miles can make a difference. WVclimo
Photos have been great in this thread. Nice job Snownut, WinterWxLuvr, Kim, Dave et. al. I have a bit more than 2" on the grass, except under trees where there's just green grass and fallen leaves. Don't see that too often.

The others are right, you need to just watch this, as it's your first snowstorm in the area... It's pretty cool what it does as the storm gets cranking off VB. It usually fills in pretty substantially. We rejoice for all snow here... be it in Canaan Valley or Richmond. Don't bring your New England attitude to our threads. You're getting a couple inches, but don't try to nowcast comparing it to radar trends of New England.

PrinceFrederickWx
LWX yanked all my snow totals now. This is what I get for trusting them last night. I may drive to western/northen MD tomorrow for pics. Sounds like I may not have to drive far. zwyts... about what time you do think this will change back over to snow for the DC/Balt metro areas?
