bboughton
Sorry, the image didn't refresh with the page. The new one is even worse for me. Are you being fecetious? Interesting--looks like the 06NAM and GFS both came in a smidge warmer--at least at lower levels. No real shift in qpf placements/amounts.
bboughton
The dark blues are 6-7... only the immediate shore is lower. A few miles inland is 7" Nope

moneypitmike
Looks like I'll see the sun for a ltitle while this emorning. Cloudy overhead, but it looks clear to the east still--or at least a big break in the clouds to the east. Temp climbing since I've been down. bboughton
I just don't see how the local mets are giving Boston 3-6, the suburbs more, and BOX is giving it trace...
moneypitmike
Growing a little concerned about damage. Are you power lines above ground? Your winds must get pretty incredible. Our best winds here are when we get arctic air infusions in the winter. Gusts to 35mph here tonight--I can only imagine what you'll be dealing with! CoastalWx
But UPTON has 7" to the shore of CT -- so confusing. Because their longitude will help out.. Same deal for the NYC area..especially places like the Bronx.
dan11295
Interesting they upped totals N/W of 495 but give nothing to the coast now. But again, this is very much a nowcast situation.

moneypitmike
I'll have to remember to stick out my road markers. Don't want the plow to run over the lawn. Once this goes through, the lingering question in everyone's mind is will be whether we can sustain the pack. It'll be tough for all--a lot tougher for some, but we'll essentially be in Novemeber so it's conceivable . Up to 31.2/

CoastalWx
My guess..strong mesoscale banding associated with 700 low will spread from the south in an arc from west to east. This band will pivot west to nw CT and up through GC and sw NH. However, tremendous frontogenesis from 850-700 should keep some convective like bands going across SNE under the DS at 500mb. It might not even be a complete DS on a line from GHG to UUU and points nw. As 500mb dips its fanny into ACK sound, we should see that GC band move east and possibly intensify as high octane theta-e air gets injected into this system. Tonight will be wild for eastern areas after 06z.
