jerry, call me crazy but i'm starting to feel warning criteria materializing in our hood if Euro holds tnite...

this is absolutely incredible and historic.

and for the records, clear NAM/Euro vs. GFS battle in <24 hour timeframe, and GFS finally caved. hasn't always in the past, but it sure has in a huge way tonight.

I'm a little worried about the lack of a drop in temps tonight. But the dynamics I suppose make it all irrelevant.

Worcester and poitns west, nashua west out to the GC into center and NE CT 5-8" with up to 10"

Noyes and Kevin L have been surpisingly conservative tonight. Kevn L's numbers are kind of shocking 5-8" is the max?

I don't see how high terrain areas get less than 8" unless there is just an epic model failure on the thermal profiles across the board.

Agreed.

There may be some banking on climo there but I don't speak for them.

Harvey came across to me as very worried because as he said it this is so anomalous that one cannot draw from common experience.

BUF had 2 feet of snow in 2006 in a doubted pattern ;)

Hey guys... I'll just tell you straight up right now... I'm hammered lol.... I just wanted to tell Will, Scott, Ryan, Tip, and Capecod that they've done a hell of a job with this storm. Its pretty remarkable that the Euro nailed this 7 days ago lol....

Anyways, I think many people in here have that boxing day bust in their minds. I know I do. I'm just hoping that this storm wipes that out completely. Just think.... We are going to have a freaking KU storm in OCTOBER!!! Biggest snows in 140 years. A snow that our ancestors fighting in WWI have never seen. Before women voting... heck, before the telephone was invented in 1877.

My biggest concern is that the top 5 all time outages of northeast utilities was after the Nov 1987 snowstorm, and that was before PSNH was apart of the system.

I got a bunch of my buddies going to UNH homecoming tomorrow and I told them how bad the storm was going to be. They poo pooed it cause WMUR said only 2-4 inches for rockingham county. I just laughed and said, have fun...

I have 4 more posts that I'll probably save for the obs section of the storm tomorrow. I just wanted to say how excited I was and that this is probably how wiz feels before a great severe threat with his 40s lol....

I just wanted to leave you all with a video of what most of us will feel like after tracking this monster and before the snow hits....

Enjoy it guys, cause we'll never see this again...

Yeah the band from hell over E MA late in the game might be slow to move east as Phil is sniffing ozone on the Cape...thats the point in the storm where it might get captured back to the W for an extra 3-6 hours. Sort of the same phenomenon that kept the steady snow going into the afternoon hours in the Jan 12 storm.

Phil is gonna wake up sunday morning and hit his head on the tropopause.

and yes i think you hit the nail on the head w/ the boxing day storms shredded precip in the minds of some

i think this storm will have a death band similiar to boxing day storm but i think the precip will have a much more impressive showing over the ORH-FIT area
