Burghblizz
I hate how the local newscasters are so starved for ratings that they scare the hell out of viewers so they will watch. I am watching Judge Judy and Peggy Finigan comes on the commercial with "getting ready for a MAJOR STORM to hit our area" and then the weathercasters chime in with "Were tracking which areas will get A HALF A FOOT and which areas will be looking at "DOWNED TREES and POWER LINES". Bread and Milk Bread and Milk AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah....but as a whole the recent history of the locals around here is serious downplaying of everything. Hey...both of those things could happen somewhere in the viewing area

This is going to surprise and get all snow down to the Southern Allegheny Co. line. Bethel Park deserves 3-5 and no ice. I can feel it! Also, Go Pens! Plumres
This morning in Plum it was 1 degree on my car dash. Two miles away near Pivik Elem it was -5. I think microclimates are so interesting to try and figure out whats causing them. With most cars now having the built in outside tempeature you can really get a feel for places that you travel though often for how temperatures fluctuate in contrast to your home. Traveling on 365 as an example, once you get close to where it intersects with 380 until it connects with 66 the temperature is almost always colder. On nights with radiational cooling it can be up to 10 degrees colder than anywhere else.
Jen16226
Here's my snowmap from the central PA thread, I placed the 3" line right over Pgh so we'll see how it goes. Is that dividing line running through Armstrong 422 or 80? LOL Realize please I am joking because everything weather wise is 422 or 80 up here.......(but 80 is just a hair above in Clarion.) SteelCity08
Already beginning as a mix here in Imperial. I was really holding out hope this would surprise, but i guess knowing how things usually go with these type of storms I should have just seen this coming. Didn't see the above post... Hopefully we can go all snow soon.

north pgh
Is this good or bad?.... If you read the discussion I posted above it says that this is just for the onset of the precip and should go to snow before it goes back to a mix after daybreak but who knows. I just went out and I am getting straight snow now. No mixing at least not yet.

That mix line is creeping north. by the time it really starts up here, we could already be dealing with a mix. We'll see.

blackngoldrules
Got snow gentleman!! Same here. Now, let's hope that mix line can stay to the south of us, at least for a good while. The radar I was looking at had it creeping close to us. That's what I was going by earlier. They're not always accurate though.
