Agreed - Finally looking like increased heights over the Rocky Mtn west - maybe just in time to help with Opening Day of Antlered - but it's making Meteo Winter (12/1 and beyond) look very interesting for the first time in a while. A little trackin snow is a good thing. The New England crew agree that the PNA looks to start going + and feel that we are starting to turn that corner although it may be beyond the opener for deer that sustained cold becomes more likely. As long as were not torchin non stop, I can handle steps toward winter. Nut

I just hate it being to warm the first day, or warm with rain. Boy can i remember some cold days on the opener in the past. I also remember within the past 10 years we got hit on opening day with a storm. It was snowing so hard after about an hour i got outta my stand, i couldn't see

r-ville
If the long range GFS is correct - we'll need to start a new thread for the fantasy storm it shows ~ 12/3 (we'd have a few winners in the contest maybe?) Since 12/1 starts Meteo winter, one should open a new CPA thread to cover. I'll do it if no one does it before I get home tonight.

PottercountyWXobserver
It is crushing right now! Great extended lake effect band, very good organization going on. I will go out and measure once the band lifts out, but just looking I'd say a solid inch to 1.5" as of now.
PottercountyWXobserver
We have 2.3" of snow from that one lake effect band that rolled through in about 1 hour! Now it is reorganizing again and it just started dumping. Will keep you guys updated for the ones that are curious. I'm taking this all in because rarely do we see this much organized banding this far away from the lake. The wind angle is perfect coming off the lake. PottercountyWXobserver
Pics! Will post some in the morning once I can get some light. The lake effect is starting to die down, or at least on Lake Erie so I think I'm just about done accumulating. I'd say a solid 3" on the ground, I will go out and measure once more before I catch some zzz's.
