Random question:

Across the street from my house is a field, and in it is a roughly 4'x2' solid concrete cylinder (I'm assuming this was used for construction). Obviously I can't pick it up or anything.

Anyone know what I can do about it? It's an eyesore to say the least. If anyone wants it - it's a perfect cylinder - it's yours. It's been there at least 2 years now. Could make a nice anchor for something I guess.

But, any ideas what to do about it other than renting a jackhammer and busting it to smaller pieces?

Call your municipality and ask.

Well nothing to interesting out to 360hr that would resemble winter. The more I look at analogs, the more I like last winter. The temps have matched up quite well with last year, the extreme heavy rain is really the only thing lacking. Although the La Nina was alot stronger than now, this winter may still match up with last year.

Actually, Euro still is insisting on a high elevation snow event late week. Been consistent on it.

NWS CTP on this potential:

AN APPROACHING TROUGH WILL FLOP THE PATTERN FROM RIDGE OVERHEAD TO TROUGH BY FRIDAY. THE

DETAILS CONTINUE TO BE SKETCHY BUT...THE GENERAL THOUGHT REMAINS

CONSISTENT - A FRONTAL PASSAGE THUR OR FRI THEN SLOWING AS A WAVE

RIDES UP THE BOUNDARY/NEAR OR OFF-SHORE. ECMWF CONTINUES TO

PRODUCE ANOTHER HIGH-ELEVATION SNOWFALL ON FRIDAY. EXPECTED

DIFFERENCES IN THE LOCATION AND TIMING OF THIS FEATURE WILL KEEP

THE FORECAST MAINLY RAIN FOR NOW AWAITING SOME BETTER AGREEMENT IN

FUTURE RUNS. DID ADD JUST A MENTION OF SHSN IN THE MOUNTAINS LATE

IN THE PERIOD FOR TEMP/PTYPE CONSISTENCY OVERNIGHT.

A little cheer me up to help us through this current on going torchfest. From last Thursday night. About 2200 ft elevation in Northwestern Tioga County. 3 inches. Same area received another 1.5 inches on Saturday Nov. 1.

My place up on top of Shin Hollow (Gaines, Tioga county) had 5 inches and then another 2 on Saturday with those systems. Good stuff.
